After purchasing our dog became very ill-vomitting and diarrhea after starting food approximately 3 days. We continued the food for 1 week, not sure if it was the food or not, he continued to be ill so we discontinued. We now have 2 bags of unusable dog food and an ill boxer (with 2 small children in the house-chaotic!).

I was using Purina One Puppy chicken food and my puppy was doing fine but suddenly after 3months she had loose stools and was lethargic. After a week of this I talked to my vet and switched her to Science Diet. She got better within 3 days. As it turns out Purina uses ground bone and animal intestines in their food. No wonder she got sick! It is insane to me that they can put such gross things in food for my sweet and vulnerable puppy.

It is so hard to watch your puppy whom relies on you for love, support, and healthy food suffer and I will never use any other food than Science Diet ever again!

Aurora, Colorado My mother has several cats and she recently switched the Purina dry food she had been using to another form of their dry food. Within 1 month of the switch she has had 3 cats die and another 2 are very ill. Wondering if they kept the contaminated dry food and are now slowing mixing the bags in with good bags for shipment? She is 87 years old and the cats have been her only companions for a number of years. Want to know if there is still contaminated food being sold in Colorado.

Loss of 3 cats and vet bills for all 5 affected.

on march 11,2007 my dog maui died suddenly on the way to the emergency vets office.she was almost 13 yrs old. i received a phone call at work that she was not herself.she was pacing and whimpering.i got home & she was exhibiting these symptons. it was a sunday & we were discussing where we could take her for help. she walked to the backdoor like she wanted to go out & before i could get there she collapsed & she urinated on herself. we picked her up & put her in the car to get to the er vet but she died a block away.we couldnt figure out what happened.she was just at our regular vet 2 weeks prior & had a wellness check up.she was fine except for arithis in her back paws.she was given an injection and some pills.

she hated pills.she loved her purina alpo prime cuts which she only got twice a week.we started hiding her pills in there everyday.she died sunday march 11th & on wednesday march 14th the first recalls became public.purina was not on that list.we still didnt know what had killed our maui.about 2 weeks later purina was on the recall list with the prime cuts.we have cans of that dog food with thoses lot numbers.i talked to my vet & he couldnt believe she had died.he thinks it was the dog food.we had maui creamated.my vet advised me to call the fda & file a report with them. i did.i also sent purina an email right after i learned they were on the recall list.didnt hear from them until i filed the report with the fda.the very next day some attorney called.she wanted mauis vet files and the can dog food. i said no.i havent heard from them since.is there any legal recourse?

we had er vet bill.the bill to cremate her & pain & suffering our broken hearts
