Purina Pet Foods

My only beloved cat Siamese named PawPaw was sick for nearly 6 to 7 weeks total. From dizziness(actually falling over) including flu-like symptoms. I even had the local American Pet Hospital Medical assistant come directly to my home because my cat was so skiddesh in traveling. thats when i was told of the food contamination. he was given two shots and told to GET OFF OF REGULAR DIET and was told to shift him to DIAMOND adult cat food sold at the local Feed Store located on Mchenry Avenue in Modesto, ca. I am a prior resident of MOdesto, ca. the whole ordeal was absolutely heartbreaking to witness and my cat had gotten sooo thin you could see his spine and hip bones due to not having any appetite EVEN AFTER WE CHANGED THE FOOD he was timid in trying.

After numerous calls to pet hospital they robotically would respond in just watch carefully and wait till he begins to eat and become stronger. All we could do is pray and love our baby! We were just happy we didnt lose our baby like so many other pet lovers. I am so glad that these companies are getting what they deserve every one must stand up not only for our beloved pets but for our children family and pet lovers everywhere. Our PETS ARE INDEED OUR FAMILY!

I have (well had) 4 inside cats and 1 outside cat. I have been feeding the 4 inside cats purina kit & kaboodle for about 2 years now, and my outside cat just eats a cheaper brand of whatever I buy. In the past month and a half, I have had 3 cats to die. One of those whom went in and out. That was the first to die. Took her to the vet and said it was some kind of poinsoning, but didn't know what. She died 1 day later.

The next cat was my baby. I noticed she wasn't looking very well, so I took her to a different vet, and he said he really didn't know what was going on. I told him about the first cat and that this one was urinating blood and couldn't quite make it to the litter box. He treated her for a kidney infection and she died at 11:00 that night. That was all in two weeks.

Not thinking of bad cat food, I continued feeding them the same kind. Two weeks later, I noticed another cat not looking well. I noticed blood in his urine also. The following day, he died. This was yesterday(10/13/08). I have one inside cat and the outside cat left.

My last inside cat is now loosing her hair on her back and rear legs and tail. I have not seen any of the other symptoms on her yet. I have changed her food, (but bagged some of the other to keep in case I need it for something). My outside male cat that eats the other type of food, there has been no sign of anything on him. I am just concerned about what could have happened to my 3 cats in less than a month and a half.

I had my cat spayed the other day, and to my horror, the vet informed me that there were mummified fetuses inside her. I had never heard of that, so I googled mummified fetuses and found your report on Newfoundland dogs who were fed Purina dog food and produced mummified fetuses. I have been feeding my cats Purina Cat Chow ever since the melamine contamination a year ago. I am wondering if my cat's problem is related to the Newfoundland issue?

The consequence was that what should have been a routine spay procedure turned into an extended operation. My cat is still very sick, and not eating well at all.

I changed my dog's food to Purina One Natural Blends Chicken & Oatmeal Formula and she became fatally ill less than a month later. She suddenly and mysteriously began to shiver uncontrollably, she started vomiting, she became extremely lethargic often hiding under the bed and non-responsive when I called her. I took her to the vet two times, the second visit resulted in emergency surgery. She was ultimately transferred to a critical care animal hospital for around the clock care until she died two days later.

My beloved Maltese, Dorrie, died at age 5 with vet bills totaling 2800.

I've had cats my whole long life and fed them what I THOUGHT was Premium Grade Cat Food. things like Fancy Feast and their dry affiliate.

After the initial wet cat food recall, I took my cats off of Iams Pouches and put them exclusively on Fancy Feast. I should have know, because my cats had severe bad breathe, really foul smelling stools, vomiting, etc.

And then, my otherwise healthy STRICTLY INDOOR 8 year old starting becoming very lethargic, vomiting nasty smelling bile mixed with food, etc.

After several vet visits, tests, etc....He was diagnosed with IBD, Inflammatory bowel disease brought about by the ingestion of BAD FOOD. It was so advanced that he couldn't keep anything down ever though he was constantly hungry. He lost over 5 pounds in less than one month. It was PATHETIC. The food literally ate away at his intestines to the point where he could not digest ANYTHING anymore, even good food. He was put down in less than 3 months after diagnosis.

I Will NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN by a a commercially produced pet food. Now my cats.....my NEW cats, that is, eat a strictly all natural diet. Petropics makes an all natural line that is free of any of the poisons in Purina foods. That, combined with food for human consumption is all I will ever feed my cats from now on.

Do NOT be fooled by those bag you see in the stores these days that SAY all natural. They aren't. That is big corporations attempt at fooling you into thinking you are giving your pet good food, when in fact, if you read the ingredients, it's the same CRAP!!

There are many GOOD pet food brands, like Indigo Moon Solid Gold, Wellness, Tiki-Cat, Innova, Castor & Pollux, etc. Just go to google and search for All Natural Pet Food, and make these bastards pay for the loss of our beloved friends. If it were our children, they'd be in jail right now!!!
