Dorothy of Los Angeles, CA August 18, 2009 I belong to a credit monitoring service (not Experians)and received a notification that a fraud and/or victim alert was filed with Experian on my name. I tried to get a hold of a human being but could not get through their automated system - I finally requested the "free" (shoudl be called fraudulent credit report in order to get to a human being. After order I was given the 800 to speak with a human - however, surprise that human was not with Experian after asking for all sorts of security details - I told her to cancel the subscription and asked for her name to which she had the audacity to reply that they don't give that invo out for security reasons - this after she takes my name and social security number I want an explanation as to who put the alert on my account and can't get any info of that nature Rachel of Acworth, GA August 8, 2009 Today for the first time I attempted to obtain my credit score. I successfully received my score from Transunion and Equifax. However nothing appeared for my Experian. I wonder why...they have my last name spelled wrong! I couldn't obtain any sort of report from them, due to "incorrect information" I'm assuming, and it's pissing me off because in order to even begin to be able to speak to a person, I have to have the number of a credit report that I can't even get! ALL I WANT TO DO IS CHANGE MY LAST NAME'S SPELLING TO THE CORRECT ONE!!!! Sherryann of Dorchester, MA July 23, 2009 Experian and Eqifax does not post a phone number to speak to a live person. Based on my research, you already receive complaints about this daily. What is being done? I tried to order my report via annualcreditreport.com and it tells me that I have already requested it. This i snot true and I waited another year to order it and it still tells me that I already received it. sharon of battleground, WA July 16, 2009 THere are several items on my credit report that are not mine...I have send investiagtions ..when reproted back experian just says verified..Some even say bankrupcty which I never filed. This is reuin my creidt adn no one seems to be able to get them off. This is so unfair and I am so upset Robert of Duxbury, MA July 8, 2009 I signed up for a free credit report with a 7 day cancellation peiod. When I called the above tel. number I was informed that I would be charged 39.95 for a one time fee. This is the ethics of one of the three major credit reporting services? When I went to get my other FICO scores from Eqifax and TransUnion, I could not get them. Totaly fraudulent scam. ann of south st paul, MN July 7, 2009 Trying to temporarily lift a security freeze. I tried numerous times to lift and they want to charge me. I sent a copy of the police report. Cannot reach anyone there by phone. They are so difficult. Have no problem with trans union and equifax but experian is impossible to work with. They need a number where you can a person who will help. Stacie of Auburn, CA June 23, 2009 July 4, 2007, is when I received my first email notice about my credit monitoring subscription. I receive all kinds of strange emails and receive phone calls for things I know I didn't sign up for because I am extremely careful NOT to do that for privacy concerns. I have been complaining since January 8, 2008 to have my name removed from the subject line of the email notifications. To date, I have repeatedly complained to Experian about this, but they keep sending me email notifications with my name in the subject line. I have been repeatedly contacting Experian at the appropriate email address to receive assistance which states: I have a question about my Credit Manager membership – who do I call? May 5, 2009, I called and spoke to a representative who laughed and thought the whole idea of removing my name from the subject line of a credit monitoring email was funny. I told the rep that it must be immediately. It was not. She hung up the phone on me after I repeatedly complained that I had been complaining since January 8, 2008. I continue to receive all kinds of junk email offers for sex offers, etc..It's absolutely ridiculous. I was contacted by someone at Experian Consumer Direct who stated he was going to fix the problem. To date, I continue to receive credit monitoring email notifications with my name in the subject line. The FTC has not yet responded back to me. Is anyone else experiencing this problem with Experian? virgil of lafayette, LA June 22, 2009 another experian post. this is as much a complaint about the experian website, their customer service and void of a way to contact them. the way that they bounce you to "free credit report" is reprehensible and misleading. ironic that there are 21 pages of complaints lodged against experian and 3 or 4 experian advertisments per page. you can call to cancel the free trial membership you were bounced into from the experian website. as for contacting experian 800 this should get you somebody breathing and responding. my card was charged a fee while i searched for the virtually non existent cancellation phone number. Ravi of germantown, MD June 16, 2009 I requested security freeze from all the credit bureaus. When I was ready to refinance my house I lifted the freeze from the other two, but could not do so with Experian. There is no human response. Every time I tried to lift the freeze, it says the freeze can not be lifted based on the information provided, and asks me to send several documents --by mail, which I did --- three times. It takes about three weeks to get a response. Every time I receive a new pin number, the pin does not work. I was about to loose my refiancing due to this delay. Tess of St. Paul, MN June 16, 2009 On the Experian website, I placed a security freeze on my account after reading that could be removed permanently or temporarily. I debited my credit card 5 to pay for this. Within a half hour, I learned that the freeze would make it impossible for a third party to monitor my account. I therefore went immediately to the website to remove the freeze. The only way to remove the freeze was to wait until the 5 payment had been posted. Contacting Experian via email led to nothing, and no phone number was available. I therefore called my credit card co. and disputed the payment. I wrote to Experian, included 3 forms of ID, and asked them to lift the freeze. Months later, they still had not done so. I got a phone number through another credit bureau and talked to an Experian person who said the only way to remove the freeze was to pay the 5. I wrote again to Experian and copied the BBB, my attorney general's office, and FDC. I then received a copy of notice that 5 is charged to residents of my state for removal of the security freeze. A week later, the attorney general's office, which had written to Experian on my account, received a letter stating that nothing could be done without my SS number. This was a lie because the only way to enter the Experian site was with my SS number (and one wonders how secure that is!), so they had it there on my account. Finally, I paid the 5 and am glad to be rid of this horrible company. | |||
