Yashica of Decatur, GA August 5, 2009 I have been trying to get a credit report from TransUnion for 3 years with no luck. I was refused a report because my address was not updated in there records (1st time it was listed as one from when I was 6yrs old, the 2nd time none was listed, 3rd time it had a one from 2 residents prior to where I currently live.) This was a major problem because each time I requested the report I had to send in a copy of my ID w/ a bill; and I was still unable to obtain a report. The last time I called, I was still was told that I had an online account (which I never setup) and that was the only I could obtain the report, but I still had to send in a copy of the my ID w/ bill just to get that information. Here it is 9mos later and I still have not been able to get the credit report. I finally got the a customer service person to give me access to an online account that I never setup, which had an email address that I was no longer had (this was explained 9mos ago) and I still can't get the report. All the site does is gives address where it can be request, which this information could have been given out the first time I called. Michael of Warner Robins, GA August 3, 2009 Why can I not talk to a real person when I contact Transunion Credit Reporting Agency. I am put through a recorded loop that brings me back to where I started or asks for info. that is not applicable for the reason I called and then cuts me off. My credit score dropped almost 70 points this past quarter for no reason and I want to find out why. Sending them correspodence through the mail does no good either. What kind of rackett is this. Where is the govt. control over this system. They drop your score and you cant find out why by talking to someone. Letters sent come back with the same old form letter that tells you absolutly nothing about your dispute. Raven of Converse, TX July 28, 2009 How unbelievable! I've been dealing with Ginny's for about a year now and just recently they denied me an item because they said trans union has a different address on me! I've had the same address for 4 years now! So I called and had to ask the female to repeat herself over and over because her accent was STRONG, then she couldn't understand the address I was giving her WAS my address! How frustrating! Why are these people allowed to be part of the credit system? I don't even know if it got fixed? I am now being denied credit with everyone because of an "address discrepancy" that trans union is stating about me. They have addresses from 4 or more years ago. Carole of Columbus, OH July 25, 2009 TransUnion has consistently kept outdated information on my credit. They have an address of mine which is almost 15 years old as my current address. More importantly, they are reporting that I have too many installment loans as a reason for one of the problems with my credit score. Upon investigation, I see that they have not updated my student loans, which I consolidated almost 3 years ago. I have a total of 2 installment loans. John of Louisburg, NC June 18, 2009 I have been trying to clean up my credit report. I had a federal tax lien in the amount of 26,073 listed with Montgomery County. I requested a copy of the Lien release on 5/28/2008 and immediately forwarded a copy to Experian, Equifax, and Transunion through U.S. mail. Both Experian and Equifax shows the lien being released 5/25/2006. Although I have made written requests to TransUnion, they are still showing a tax lien on my credit report. In addition, they are showing the tax lien for a higher amount of 29,000 when the lien was for 26,073. I am in the process of purchasing a home and this lien is having a negative impact in terms of my obtaining bank approval. Loran of Indianapolis, IN June 17, 2009 First off I am supposedly entitled to one free credit report a year. Which I get because you need credit to live in America (face this fact it's true) yet every time I try to get my free report from TransUnion they can't seem to produce it on line. But if I want to pay for one they can produce it in a hot second. If I printed something about you or made a statement about you that was not factual then there would be consequences. But not for these guy's nope. First if you can actually talk to a person and not a recording it's a miracle, and when you do it's like filling out a government form in triplicate to get them to consider reviewing your complaint. If they do review your complaint how long does it take for them to take action? Pretty much when they get around to it. What ever happend to getting a letter of recomendation from your bank, or God forbid you actually having a savings account, showing that you have the means and ability to earn and save money. These companies have basically no responsability for what they report about you, and worse yet to see what they are saying they can charge you a fee to see. Isn't that like extortion? At a bare minimum you should be able to call a real live person during normal business hours in your time zone and talk to someone who can 1. Tell you what your credit score is. 2. Tell you how that value was derived 3. If there are issues tell you how to resolve them. If the report is factual then tell the client how to contact the creditor in question. Sueanne of Courtice , ON June 4, 2009 I went to apply for a credit line and was told there were two outstanding debts in my name. The Visa and embridge accounts were not mine they were my Mothers. (same last name and her name is Susan)I explained this and they opened an investigation. They advised it would take 30 business days to be rectified. I called on day 15 to see if there was any update. When I called in they asked for my name, address and sin. I gave them all this information. Then they requested me to answer clarifying questions which were around the two debts in my mothers name. (What my previous job was. Which the options only gave me my mothers previous job). I explained this to them and they refused to assist if I could not answer the question. I explained i would be lying if i answered the question and they advised I had no other option. I was floored that they still had questions posted for the debt I advised was not accurate. I requested to speak with a Manager. The Manager could not explain why they would ask me questions with the information I knew was worng. He kept saying it was my creditors that send this information and it wasn't them. I asked what their policy was to ensure the sin and data from the creditors was verified with my information. He was not sure and I was forwarded to a voicemail with no call back. I had my mother call TD visa and embridge while I was on the line and her sin and details were used and sent to Trans Union. How is this company allowed to tag this debit to my name with only a similar name? What rights do I have. This is now the 2nd time Trans Union has placed my mothers debit in my name. They keep blaming the creditors and the creditors are saying TransUnion is at fault. Needless to say I have not been able to get a resolution yet. 30 days have come and gone and they are still investigating. They advised me that they have a higher then normal work load and the investigations are taking longer. Continuing to pay higher interests rates as I am unable to qualify for my line of credit to pay off my cc. It has impacted my relationship with my Mother. I have spent hours on the phone with these people and no one has a clue. Bernard of El Portal, FL May 30, 2009 I've requested a FREE 30 DAYS TRIAL CREDIT REPORT from TRANSUNION via their web site on 5/19/09. Since 5/20/09 I've been trying to cancel it. I've called many times via their 800 number and being given the runaround by customer service reps (they couldn't find my account to cancel it). Further I could not log into my account. Sent a return receipt/certified letter to Transunion to cancel it. Nightmares, unable to sleep, had to cancel my amex card. MARCELO of VIRGINIA BEACH, VA May 22, 2009 I try the 30 days trial membership with credit union. When I decided to cancell it. Nobody is answering their phone. I am trying this for 3 weeks now, 30 times a days and different time but still they dont answer the phone. Report Your Experience
