Accessories Palace Children's Necklaces Recalled

March 14, 2007
Children's necklaces sold exclusively at Accessories Palace are being recalled because of a lead poisoning hazard.

The recalled jewelry contains high levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.

The recalled necklaces are multi-colored pendants shaped as hearts, crosses, moons, feet, stars, dolphins, shamrocks, teardrops, spiders, flip-flop sandals and butterflies that hang from a black cord. "Mood Necklace" is printed on the front of the packaging and Item #AP-R428 is printed on a sticker on the back of the packaging.

The jewelry was sold exclusively at: Accessories Palace in Lake Worth, Fla., and the Accessories Palace Web site, www.accessoriespalace.com, from September 2006 through February 2007 for about $1.

Consumers should immediately take the recalled jewelry away from children. Consumers should return the recalled jewelry to the Accessories Palace store for a full refund. If unable to return it to the store or if purchased through the Web site, contact United Imports Inc. for information on how to receive a full refund.

For additional information, contact United Imports Inc. at (800) 457-3545 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or visit the firm's Web site at www.unitedimports.com.

The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
