“Power Bolt” Pitchbacks Sold at Dick’s Sporting Goods

“Power Bolt” y-frame and Ultimate Y-frame adjustable pitchbacks sold at Dick's Sporting Goods are being recalled.

The upper portion of the frame can collapse after both locking pins are removed, posing a laceration hazard.

Dick’s Sporting Goods has received three reports of finger/hand laceration injuries.

This recall involves the Power Bolt Y-Frame Pitchback and Y-Frame Ultimate Pitchback. The products’ Y-shaped metal frames have attached netting which will return a thrown ball to the user. The upper portion of the frame is adjustable to allow a variety of rebound angles.

The pitchbacks were sold at Dick’s Sporting Goods retail stores nationwide and on its Web site. The Power Bolt Y-Frame Pitchback was sold from November 2002 to July 2007 for about $70. The Power Bolt Y-Frame Ultimate Pitchback was sold from February 2005 to July 2007 for about $100. They were made in China.

Consumers should stop using the product immediately and contact Dick’s Sporting Goods to receive a free repair kit.
