Redcat Remote-Controlled Toy Racers Recalled

Redcat Racing is recalling about 1,400 remote-controlled toy racers. The remote control unit can lose its signal, causing the toy vehicle to lose control, posing a risk of injury to the user or bystanders.

Redcat Racing has received about 15 reports of remote control malfunctions. There have been no injuries reported.

The recalled remote controls were included in the remote cars as shown below. These cars were sold in a variety of colors. The model name and numbers are located on the body of the vehicle or on the retail packaging:

The racers were sold by authorized dealers nationwide from March 2007 through April 2008 for between $260 and $400. They were made in China.

Consumers should immediately stop using the product and contact Redcat Racing for a replacement remote control.

The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
