The Wick & Petal Co. Recalls Candles

The Wick & Petal Co. is recalling about 1,300 jar candles. The candles can burn with a high flame, posing a fire hazard.

Wick & Petal has received seven reports of the candles burning with high flame, some resulting in minor property damage. No injuries have been reported.

This recall involves all Wick & Petal jar candles. The candles have a cylindrical shape and a chrome lid. The lid has a white label with a picture of the fragrance, the fragrance name, and 'Wick & Petal Co.' printed on it.

The candles were sold at select candle retailers and craft fairs in Indiana from October 2007 through December 2007 for between $8 and $18. They were made in the U.S.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled candles and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
