RENTALS: Consumer Complaints A Renter's Guide

Sam of Lawndale, CA, writes:

I signed up with agency for rental listings in the Southbay area for $200 fee and I received a list of about 150 listings in Southern CA.

I call about 95% of the listings in the areas I am looking at and all but 2 homes were rented out about 2 to 3 weeks. Some of the landlords were upset that I was calling them. I think is bogus and I like a refund.

I lost time, I could have gone to the local papers to find the same two listing that were available.
