Dominick of W. Melborne FL (8/14/03):
On June 27th 2003 I purchased an air conditioner for my daughter Frances Ann Bagger. I chose to purchase at PC Richard & Son because they had a deal for a $35 refund from LIPA with the return of the old air conditioner. When I brought the air conditioner to my daughter's home the old one was no longer there. I went back to PC Richard within that week to return the new air conditioner and was told by Mr. Lampach at that time that air conditioners were not returnable. I told him it was still in the box and had never been opened. He said it did not matter.

I told him I had never heard that air conditioners were not returnable. I had returned one in the past from a different retail store. I said I would contact consumer affairs and he said "Do whatever you have to."
