Dianne of Rustburg, VA July 19, 2009

I purchased a Xbox 360 game on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at full price of 59.99. The Sunday Target ad came out the following Sunday, July 19, 2009 with the ad for "Buy one, get one 50% off" for their Xbox games of equal or greater price. I called the store to inquire if they would make honor that price if I came back with my receipt and purchased the other game I had been saving up to buy (it qualified for the equal term of price). I was told no, that they would only refund money if an item was advertised at a lower price than what I bought it at. I was told by the manager that he could not help it that I purchased the game at full price not knowing what was coming in the next weeks ad. I could have had two Xbox games for the price I had already paid. I feel I have been cheated.

price don't reflect the sign price.

5/18/09 While shopping online at target.com I came across a dinning patio furniture set that I fell in love with, the draw back was that online they are out of stock. Next to the avability link online there's a link that allows you to find it at your nearest target. I found one approximately 10miles away from home and drove there they had it. I was so excited.

However after finding assistance I was told that I could not receive the promotion offered online, even though it was not avaliable online nd avaliable at the store. I was told that every Target has different prices on merchandise and that because you find it at one store with one price they can not guarantee that you'll pay the same amount.

Also when I ask to speak to the mananger the young lady helping stated that she was the acting manager and proceeded to walk away, literally she gave me her back. I have never in my whole shopping experiences felt so disgusted with the type of service received. Also I did not understand why their prices vary from online to store to store. She also stated that the weekly ad prices are usually not correct and that they do not guarantee the prices printed. Now to me that sounds like false advertising and this should be looked into by the BBB. I am so disappointed and I will file a compliant with the BBB and also spread the word. Hopefully Target decides to change their policy.

We went to target to purchase a Sunbeam .7cu.ft. 700w microwave. the product was not in stock but next to the advertised price was an instant substitute sign stating: instant substitute we are sold out of:.7cu.ft 700-watt microwave oven Please substitute: Emerson .7cu.ft. 700-watt microwave for 47.99 reg.59.99.

we asked to speak with a manager and explained that we felt this was bait and switch because them are asking the consumer to "please substitute" a higher priced item but not honering the 39.99 sale price for the substitute. we spoke with a higher manager then carrol after that, who explained to us that she went to college and that this was not considered bait and switch. we all agreed on dissagreeing. we left the store very upset. not only did we not get the microwave, it was implied that we were not as educated as the manager.

I saw a car stereo for 69.99 at the Target store in Marion Ill. I made a special trip back to the store to buy it. They had three types of stereos in stock. The one I wanted to purchase had a price tag located directly beneath the stero for 69.99. The one located next to it was 118.xx and the third radio on the right was 83.99. All three stereo types had different boxes but two were of the same brand. All three stereos had at least two boxes sitting on the shelf with the price tag located below each one.

I took the one marked 69.99 up to the counter and it came up 83.99. I told them it was priced 69.99. They asked the electronics employee We have a car stereo that should be 83.99 can you find it for that price? In two seconds the guy tells them it's 83.99. I told them he is wrong and they sould move the boxes to the proper area on the shelf.

They told me if I wanted to I could walk back to the electronics area and find proof it is listed at 69.99. I told them no, just take it back and put it in the right spot. Several weeks later I still see it sitting on the self marked 69.99. I took a picture with my phone to back up my claim. This seems a little deceptive and almost like a bait and switch. I guess they hope customers won't notice the real price while they are checking out.

Not only gas but the time and effort to try and buy the item.

I was told that the camcorder that I was purchasing from the store was either not available online or that it would cost more if purchased online (because the sale was in store and when I returned home the camcorder was still in my shopping cart (target online) at a discounted price of 40.00 less. I called and asked for a credit so that I may purchase an item which I was told was not available in the store and I was told that I could not. I could not return the camcorder because I used it once. No refund, no credit.

I payed 40.00 plus NYS tax more for the item.

Three Go International tops I wanted were finally marked down to 30% off. Or so I thought. When I went to get rung up, the less-than-friendly cashier charged me full price for two of them and told me that they only mark down certain sizes. I asked to speak with a manager and she refused to listen to me. I went to Guest Services and dealt with Krystal, who was equally rude and unwilling to hear my side of the story. She treated me like a liar when I insisted that there was a sign indicating that the items were all 30% off. She reiterated the fact that Target only marks down clothing of certain sizes and colors, depending on how well something sells.

I have never heard of this ridiculous policy before. All the others stores I've went to mark down a certain item in all sizes and colors. I called the shift manager to complain about Krystal's lack of customer service, and was given the same treatment. She so impolitely repeated that it was corporate policy and they didn't make the rules. Well, to me, it is discrimination. Any woman of any body type can be discriminated against by Target, according to whatever whims they have to mark down the merchandise.

I have been a Target shopper for years, but in the past few years, especially at this Chicago South Loop store, I've received very bad customer service. I am no longer giving them my business. In an economy where money is tight, team members shouldn't display such negative attitudes and companies shouldn't have such ridiculous policies, as the consumer can easily go somewhere else where they are treated better. I was a big fan of the GO International lines at Target and was looking forward to the Alexander McQueen line in March, but they have permanently lost my business.
