Target Bans the Salvation Army
Customers React to Salvation Army Ban

Their stores are big and bright and somehow more "upscale" than Wal-Mart or Kmart. But behind that chipper-looking exterior lurks a company that can be downright mean-spirited when its customers run into even the slightest problem.

Target's spiteful returns and exchanges policy, in particular, is making it the target of some pretty heated rhetoric from its former customers.

A few of the more recent complaints ...

Christy of Newport News VA (02/26/09)
I bought a Chefmate mini refrigerator from Target. The regrigerator broke within 6 mo from the purchase. I tried to call the number on the manual, and it said the number was no longer in service. I called Target, and they said they weren't responsible because the purchase was made more than 90 days ago. Target said they did not have the manufacturer's contact number, and Target is NOT responsible for providing the manufacturer's warranty information or customer service number.

Because Target's buyers have no responsibility for the customers, I can't do anything with the broken refrigerator. Basically, Target buys chip products, and once the items are sold, their responsibilities end there after 90 days. They don't care whether the manufacturers are trustworthy or not. I am glad it's a mini refrigerator, and not a bigger item. But I don't think I can shop @ Target anymore knowing they don't care about customers who buy these items thinking they are going to last more than 90 days.

Re: No claim filed by Target Luxottica w/Regence BlueCross/Shield/Noridian Once again Target Luxottica has attempted to intimidate me into paying their misrepresented invoice. This is the 6th such invoice/statement with FALSE information. The statement on the invoice/statement YOUR VISION PLAN HAS DENIED THE LISTED SERVICES is FALSE. Attached is the statement from my Vision Plan and Medicare Advantage Plan Regence, a division of BlueCross/Shield. This printout covers the DOS for the Target/Luxottica provided glasses as well as the whole time it was in effect from 1-1-2008, and all claims for entire term of healthcare. As you can see there is no claim by Target / Luxottica

The staff at Target / Luxottica has repeatedly acknowledged that they called and confirmed the coverage at Regence prior to providing services. The Target / Luxottica staff, Kirk the supervisor and Lucy have repeatedly acknowledged their pre service call AND missteps and foul-ups by the home office and have provided a variety status because of Target/Luxottica procedural changes and home office miss handling claims. Unfortunately I have first hand experience with fraudulent Medicare Billing from my mothers final years and this is the same INTIMIDATION that is wide spread.

A year of harrasment & intimidation. This is Medicare fraud but because Regence/BlueCross/Noridian CMS are really all the same business things get lost.

Hello, Love the product but struggle to open. I recently (two days ago) purchase two tubes of your lipstick (silver 3 container). I can't believe how difficult it is to open. At first I thought I needed to twist it, then pull apart, then slam on a counter, or whatever. If I had any hand or finger difficulties I would not be able to use this product. Just a heads up--make it simplier to open. I will continue to struggle to use the two products but will be assured to give myself plenty of time to do so. Thanks for listening.

I always buy HD ice cream and as I was eating from the pint of cookie dough that I purchased on 2/7/09 there was a very long hair that I almost consumed which came out as I was eating with a spoon. I will no longer buy this product because obviously there are sanitary issues that need to be addressed immediately.

I purchased a brand new Tonka truck toy at Target on 1/24/09 for my 3 year old son. I brought it home and my daughter was able to get to the watch size batteries in the toy. My daughter is 12 months old. She swallowed one of the three batteries. This product had a faulty battery cover which should be secured with a screwed in cover but when I looked at it realized that the cover was loose and you can't screw it in to close tightly because I tried.

My daughter had to go to the emergency room and have x-rays and a procedure done to get the battery out of her stomach. I am out of a job due to being laid off and don't have the money to pay these medical bills.
