    I have been a loyal customer at TJ Maxx for over 20 years at the same location and never had a problem. Today, I had a uncomfortable experience. I was returning 3 items I bought 2 days ago because they did not fit. I brought the item into the store with the receipt and all tags intact. I was returning the 3 items and purchasing 6 more. The cashier scanned the return items and stated that she could not accept one of the item for exchange, she said the tag was not correct. The tag match my receipt. I was dumbfounded because I never have this problem before.

    The cashier left the area and return a few minutes later. I again ask her, so, I can not return the item and she replied "no". I stated, the item doesn't fit me and I have no use for it. She continue to say that her scanner and the item were not the same but my receipts and the item number on my receipt is the same. I continue to point to the receipt and the tag and show her that they were the same. At this point she finally took it and completed the transaction. This situation I feel was embarrassing. In conclusion, I love TJ Maxx and your products, but please do better.

    I've had a card with this company, and it's difficult to get my points at our store on Highway 280 in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. My wife spends a lot of money there, but I won't purchase there anymore. I asked for a credit increase and was turned down, so I intend to pay off my card and not spend anymore money there. Also, some of the employees are rude lately.

      I was in the Beaufort SC store and one of their managers kept yelling for people to go to the office and one of the employees that went to the office was currently helping me and she also yells “CREDIT CREDIT CREDIT” every what feels like 5 minutes. I witnessed an employee stocking shelves on a mat that wasn’t even a quarter inch thick! There was also a broken chair that was on the sales floor for at least 3 days.

      Hello, My name is Dina. This is my second time going to the University Ave (West Des Moines IA) TJ Maxx store where I was disrespected, discriminated against, pushed away like I didn’t matter, belittled as human because someone put their “manager” panties on and thinks they can do so. First time I was there, I had tags on my clothing but couldn’t find my receipt (perfectly NOT out of the ordinary). Same ** manager refused to return it even as a GIFT CARD as I always shop there. This second time I was turned away with a RECEIPT!!!! My daughter bought jewelry with her own money as a gift for the holidays and as she attempted to put on her jewelry it broke. This is the SECOND time we returned your jewelry because it broke. Not because we were rough with it but because the quality of it is horrid.

      We put our trust in our stores A LOT and definitely disappointed numerous times. Nonetheless, because the boxes didn’t have tags for scanning which I know for sure we didn’t remove. Why would we remove the sticker tags off our boxes???? That makes no sense. We attempted to explain this to two ** ladies in all innocence. We are not maliciously trying to fraud anyone. They refused to help, even a little. We feel fraudulent against as when we gave our money initially for your items. We didn’t give you broken money but the items we received broke (not first time) but this will be the last time. They refused to help us simply because of our kind and who we were as people of religion and we know that to be true because we have heard numerous people whose items will be returned without hesitation. Double standards??? I THINK SO.

      Being a billionaire dollar company whose money comes from your consumers I thought you would have more respectful, well mannered, understanding, empathy driven, intelligent people who as management would try their very best to help their customers. I work in the corporate customer service world and if I treated my customers the way your employees treated me I would be fired. Absolutely disgusting. I am going to take this to the State General, BBB, and all social media sites.

      Because of two jewelry boxes each worth $16.99 which I fully paid for and me walking in with a receipt your employees couldn’t go out of their way a little to make a customer happy but customers all around the state and states can come in and give you their hard earned money and purchase from you, as well as their trust I need someone to call me at **. I walked away explaining that this is not okay, and all she could say to me was “FEAR YOUR GOD” which is definitely over the top and full confirmation that she was so racist against my kind. I’m always treated this way by this ** manager. (ONLY HER) because she racists, snobby, prideful, arrogant and unjust and I will make sure I share my experience wherever I go and to whoever I can get. My family and relatives will never go into a TJ Maxx store again. I will make sure of it. Because of your $16.99 x 2 you just lost thousands of dollars all year round.

      I use to work in retail, you should trust your customers and fulfill their needs because without them you would be NOTHING. You would close down without your consumers. Without us, your consumers you would have never operated, your employees would never get paid and your employees because of their own emotions they treat your consumers disgustingly. How do you take pride in that? I would be embarrassed to have a manager on site who treats people so unjustly and someone as disgusting as her and mannered to represent my company.

      I asked for her manager and she said “I’m not manager”. Hesitating to give me her manager's name and when I said “you don’t own TJ MAXX. Who’s above you?” She said “Michelle”. I want MICHELLE’s MANAGER TO CALL ME. Later I found out the name of the manager who refused to help me is named SENIDA. I WANT MY MONEY BACK. You can have your low quality fake jewelry I put so much of my time and trust in.

      I WANT MY MONEY BACK. Nobody in that corporate deserves it. I will gladly never shop there again because your employee ruined and gave me the worst experience of my life. There’s many better places who respect to get respect. Not demand it. What happened to empathy and understanding the customers' circumstances, making their day better? Going over the top? Putting in a little extra work to help when there is no way out? Doing everything and anything? She took pride in her title and her ability to say “no” because she thinks that title will make her feel better and if anyone at this headquarters defends that then they shouldn’t have a job either.

      We had such a worst shopping experience ever. Despite making a bill of around 500$ we were treated so badly by the store manager. It was so horrible waiting for 2 hours and getting no compensation for the staff's mistake. We are extremely disappointed and frustrated with the unacceptable experience we had at your store. What should have been a simple visit turned into a complete waste of our time, effort, and trust due to the sheer lack of staff training and accountability.

      Your employees provided completely inaccurate information regarding your store credit card and proceeded to pressure us into applying. Despite our hesitation, we were made to wait and were asked to enter sensitive personal details under the false assurance that everything would be resolved—even after the application was declined. We were explicitly told that calling customer service would “fix the issue,” which turned out to be entirely misleading.

      As a direct result of your staff’s incompetence and misinformation, we are now dealing with unnecessary complications, including a hard inquiry on our credit report—something we never consented to nor needed. This has negatively impacted us, all because your team failed to provide correct information and acted irresponsibly. What is even more unacceptable is the response from the store owner. Instead of taking responsibility or offering any meaningful resolution, we were met with a dismissive attitude and the statement, “Sorry, I don’t have the ability to do that.” This is not only unprofessional but deeply insulting, especially when it is clear that some form of compensation or corrective action could have been offered.

      This entire experience reflects a serious failure in management, staff training, and customer care. It is shocking that a business would operate with such disregard for its customers. We feel misled, disrespected, and inconvenienced. Frankly, this has been one of the worst retail experiences we have ever encountered. Shame on the entire management team for allowing such negligence. We strongly advise others to avoid this store unless significant improvements are made.

      Never ever order anything online from TJ Maxx-learned the hard way. My order says I can return in store-store says they will not accept it-must be returned by mail-ok-then you have a $11.99 charge-what a rip off- would give 0 if I could.

      The TJMaxx/Homegoods store in Manahawkin is wonderful! Though it is a very busy location, especially midday and on weekends, they manage it very well. The line always looks very long, but no matter how long it seems, it moves rapidly and I've rarely waited more than 5-10 minutes to pay. They open additional registers which is really appreciated. The stock is changed often and I always find something - even if it's not what I originally came in for!

      Run for your life. Do not trust these people. Apparently one of my credit card details was entered incorrectly as they say, so that made my payment 30 days late. Instead of TJ Maxx having the integrity to contact me maybe the next day or that week to let me know what happened, they waited 30 days later to contact Credit Karma and told them that I was 30 days late on my payment and the actual issue could have been resolved. Way sooner than that. I don't recommend no one to deal with them in any form or fashion. They will mess your credit up. Credit Karma took 42 points off my credit score all because of it. Something that could have been handled instantaneously.

      This review is for on-line ordering only. Their shipping time is horrible! I’ve ordered online twice and both times shipping took AT LEAST a month to reach Maui. They charge $12.99 for standard 7-14 day shipping! On-line shipping needs to be made more efficient.

      I placed a couple of orders and the first one they kept changing the delivery date so it was very late. My second order they kept changing the delivery date and never got it. After three weeks they said they would refund. They kept saying it would be delivered next day. Bought to wear on my birthday and never received. This is the first time shopping with TJ Maxx on line. Never again. This is a horrible place to shop. I don’t think anyone should shop here. You will be very disappointed..They should be turned in to Better Business Bureau because they do not tell the truth.

      My wife just left the Highway 280 location in Birmingham. She spent about $278.00 today alone. Last month was over $600. She was waiting in a long line, which is ok but 3 ** ladies didn't want to wait, so they opened the jewelry register for them only. I'll go across town from now on. I'm also going to cancel my credit card this afternoon.

      The TJ Maxx store located at 5 West 125th Street, New York, NY needs to treat their customers with courtesy and appreciation. On many occasions, I have heard how associates speak to customers like they are begging for something, and not using their money to make a purchase. On a few occasions, I have asked to use the bathroom, after making a purchase, and they have refused to open the bathroom. When I asked why? They don't have a reason, and the response from the associate is rude and unprofessional. I had enough. I am taking my purchase back and never returning to this location.

      I went to TJ MAXX at the District and Tustin Legacy today Feb 23, 2026. I had a nice experience, especially with the associate Miss **. Very helpful and friendly! I like going to this branch, because it’s organized and employees are all nice! Congrats. ❤️

      Today is Sunday, and one of the coldest days in Miami in over 15 years. My wife had the brilliant idea of taking a trip with me to the TJ Maxx at Flagler Fountain Blue in Miami. At checkout, only three registers were open. To make the experience even more “customer-friendly,” corporate policy encourages cashiers to pitch a store credit card to every single customer—because nothing says efficiency like a sales speech while a frozen line of people waits. The result was a slow-moving, thoroughly avoidable checkout nightmare. Of the three cashiers working, only Yan ** showed any real concern for keeping the line moving and respecting customers’ time.

      After going through a separation I tried to add a new bank account. It was incorrect. Less than 1 month later they charged me a fee and closed the account. They will not reopen it. Never again.

      I was recently in Richmond Kentucky TJ Maxx. Took a very large return back. My wife had thrown away the receipts and young lady named Tatwanna waited on me. She was awesome. It took her a long time to check out the items I had returned. She went far above her job to take care of me. She was awesome. Just think she needs to be recognized! Lovely young lady!

      Shopping here online is the WORST experience I've had probably in over 15 years. I ordered an armchair that had a surcharge for oversized shipping. This was fine with me until I realised it was being shipped via Maersk, a company (that ships ocean cargo and large packages) I've never heard of before. The tracking number TJ Maxx sent didn't work on Maersk's website because Maersk uses a completely different site (that you would only know if you called the US customer service line which itself isn't public without a deep Google dive!). Maersk's system is confusing and unbelievably complicated just to find simple things like a chatbot or email address for consumer concerns.

      I then had the miserable experience of calling Maersk about 15 times to figure out where my order was because the locations shown were incorrect. Then, I had to schedule delivery with a local transport company for my order even though TJ Maxx made no mention of this when I got the email about my order being shipped. TJ Maxx cheapened out and rather than using a well-known shipping company like UPS or FedEx, they go with a company that buries customer service information, leaving confused shoppers like me, the task of detective work to locate our purchases. I will NEVER shop online here again and will only shop brands I trust (Amazon has stellar service in my 15 year experience).
