Lori of Trinidad CO (01/20/09)
went into the store 962 in trinidad colorado at 18;21 to have my kids use there gift cards they received for christmas. there was two cards both for 15.00 each. the cashier could not get the first card to scan so she called the csm (Malcolm) fixed that one but when i went to use the other card it didn't work (Malcolm) came back over to fix that card. He said i needed to call the number on the card. I asked what do customers do when this happens (cards recceived as gifts.) He proceeded to raise his voice and said he did all he could do and he was unable to do anything else.

The cashier didn't understand why Malcolm was so rude. She apolgized for his behavior. There was customers behind me,and all this was done in front of two small childern. After the embarrassment I left the store and went home called the number on the gift card and spoke with a Daren he said that I could have went to customer service and they could have put the amount on another card because the card I have probably was demagnitized. I let him know what happened and he apoligized for the csm.

For Malcolm being in his postions you would think that Wal mart would train the csm on how to be professional and helpful. after all isn't the customer always right. I am sure nothing will get done but its sad that if childern get a gift card from walmart they may not get to use it.

I purchased about eight rolls of wrapping paper before chritmas for my children's gifts. I changed my mind later and chose different paper. I wanted to return the rolls of paper so I brought them back to Wal Mart. I had receipts to show that they were actually purchased before christmas. The ladies at customer service were rude to begin with and they said I could not return seasonal items. One said I could because I had a proper receipt and then another one overheard and butted into the conversation saying I could not return it. I said okay and moved to the side to put my receipt back in my purse.

What really [upset] me was that the lady behind me had a whole basket full of seasonal merchandise that she wanted to return. The customer specifically stated that she bought the items after Christmas and did not know that she couldn't return it. They gave her a full refund! You can't do it for one person and not the other. I had a valid receipt showing that I purchased my wrapping paper before christmas and before it was on clearance.

This is not proper customer service! Somebody owes me about twenty dollars worth of wrapping paper. If the other customer could return items purchased after christmas then I should be able to return things purchased way before christmas, especially since I had proof! I also tried to contact a store manager later that day and I was placed on hold forever and no manager ever picked up the line!

On December 23rd or 24th 2008 I brought three Wakmat gift cards for my daughters as Christmas gifts. Two days after Christmas, One of my daughters stated the that her card did not work. I told my other daughters to try their card to see if they work. non of the cards worked. I took all three cards back to Walmark to let them know the cards did not work and to get them to fix the problem. Customer service stated that we have to call the 800 number on back of the cards to get them to work. I asked them if they could just do it and the representaive said no. I tried to call and the automated machine stated that I need my receit. I did not keep my receit but walmark could track my purchase on that day because I used my credit card.

I went back to customer service and told them what happened and could they just check my records on that purchase date and they still said no. I have to call the 800 number because they do not give refunds for the card. At that time I wasn't interrested in a refund but only to get the cards working for my dughters. I've heen going back and forth with customer service and that 800 number on the back of the card and nothing happened. At one time I did get through to a person on that 800 number and they asked me to give them the code numbers on the cards. The representative person stated that the cards are inactive and he also stated that I have to go customer service in Walmart. I told him what I've already been through and he said that he could not help me.

paid 75.00 for these stupid card for Christmas and it is now 1/19/09 and my daughters still are unable to use them. I don't have money to throw away. Now I just want my money back. I am never going to buy another one of thoughs cards again. Walmart have just ripped me off. I could have used that money other gifts for my dughters. At least they would have gotten something for Christmas that they could use insted of a stupid piece of plastic that did not work.

Gary of Security, CO January 19, 2009

They tried to make things a little more convenient with things like putting in 30 check out lanes. Just try and find a single Walmart though that opens any more than 4 or 5 at each end, even during the holiday rush. So add to that the Self Check lanes they stuck in there so they don't have to employ 8 checkers. Well, during the holidays they stuck these big plastic sign holders on the end of each Self Check with a sign that stated they were limiting those lines to 20 items or less. I asked why they were limiting those lines and was told that it was only during the holidays and only so other customers didn't have to wait in line too long. How does that make any sense? All of the lines are long during the holidays and limiting the number of items at any check out other than the 20 items or less lines is going to inconvenience somebody.

So tonight I go into Walmart and the signs are still on the Self Check lines, 18 days into the new year. On top of that, they have reset the computers so they are more sensitive as to whether you have placed your purchased item in the bagging area. I swear to God that of the 11 items I purchased, the computer told me 8 times to Place your item in the bagging area even though the items were IN THE BAG! I am not one of those people that have so much time on their hands that they do nothing but complain, but tonight was the straw that broke the camel's back. As if the convenience thing wasn't enough, I had to wait in a line to get out of the store!

It seems that with all of the extra money they had from not having to hire cashiers for the Self Check lines they hired 2 people to stand in the exits on both ends of the store. Their job is to grab your receipt, pretend they're looking at it, and then tell you have a good evening. I was fired upalready from the put your [purchases] in the bagging area scolding I was getting from a machine, so I asked the guy exactly what it was he was doing. He said they had to check to make sure everything in the bags was paid for. I asked, So how do you do that without looking in the bags? He answered that they just were looking for items that weren't bagged. So I ask, Well all of my items are in bags. Why are you stopping me? He answers, Uh. Well. Er we just have to check everyone's receipts.

Obviously they just needed to make sure everybody had a job, so they hired 4 people to pretend to check bags and receipts. That did it. I would rather go to the convenience stores and pay the extra 25% on prices that cover the convenience than put up with Walmart any more. If they ae doing any of this in the name of convenience, they are missing the mark. If the choices are, 1. Wait in a long long line. 2. Go through a Self Check line and listen to a machine harass you. or 3. Go to the convenience store and pay 25% more in order to get things quickly, then I will go to anywhere other than Walmart.

I don't know how important other people's time is, but I consider time to be money, and wasted time to be wasted money. I am tired of wasting money in lines for the sake of convenience.

Gabe of Nampa, ID January 18, 2009

Gabe of Nampa ID (01/18/09)
Over the last year and a half I have had nothing problems with this store, I have gone there got 350 in goods spent 47 mins. in line to find from a CSM with a crappy attitude that there system was down that would cash my check to buy the goods. The part that pissed off me and the cashier was that the CSM said that it has been down for about 1 hour, and they never attempted at all to contact anybody about this. Approximately 100 people left the when I had my problem.

I have been told multiple times that they have this and that in stock, to go there and they dont have it, and then they try and sell me stuff I dont want. Then they used to sell fuel there, I and many people have gotten cards for there fuel to go and find out that they closed there fuel island down without notice and no reason why. I have gone to the other store here and Nampa and found that they do not have something, so they try to contact the other store to find out that they cant contact them. This other store has told me that thay have herd many bad comments on the 12th ave. store.

I have also been told by the store manager Troy that he would take care of my problems, I go to do this to find out that he never took care of anything and when I try to contact him he is not to be found. I have alot more of this. This store needs a complete personnel change, my neighbor works for this store and she has told me that she cant beleive that this store has any customers at all with the way they run it. I hope that something can be done about Walmart, I think it is time for all govenments get involved and regulate how they do business. If there is a lawsuit on Walmart I hope I am contacted, I might have some info for you. I can not stand this anymore.

No damages, but alot of wasted time and money on fuel. They have nickeled and dimed me to death.
