James of Angola , IN September 26, 2009 My complint is the fact that I cannot get the name brands I desire In particular "Post Grapenuts Flakes" I have discussed this on 2 occassions with the store personnel. I did not get to concern until the Kroger store closed, now I have to drive 25 miles one way to get the cereal I desire.I am a diabetic and 99% of the cereal on the shelves in the store are loaded with either sugar or high sodium contents. The second complint I have with the same store is the quality of the produce. both Walmart and Meijer only carry oranges grown in South Africa. and the quality is terrible, last week I purchased banana's I did not buy them green as we wanted to eat them. the ones I purchased looked good on the outside however when I sliced it up the next morning for my cereal It took 3 to get 1 good banana. they were rotten in the center. my only recourse is to travel to Auburn to do my shopping at the Kroger store and if I am going to do that I may as well purchase the rest of my groceries there too. The economic damage is the cost of traveling 50 miles round trip. The physcical side is trying to find the type of food products my doctor asks me to eat to maintain my health and lose weight. Estee of Cathedral City, CA September 26, 2009 On 9-23-09, after shopping, I requested a carry-out. After 15 minutes of waiting I was assured by the checker and a manager that someone would be right up. No one never showed and I left. Further, 85% of the employees either don't speak English or they have no idea where items are located. English is not a second language in the United States. I had no choice but to walk a great distance in the 106* sun & load several heavy bags into my car. Greg of TWIN FALLS, ID September 24, 2009 My wife, 20 month old son & I took my VERY RARE 1988 Mazda GTX to Walmart to get some new tires (thought it was the best deal, silly me!). The service manager was a smart-alec among other things from the beginning. About 25-30 minutes goes by when they call my name over the speaker system, so we made our way back over to the tire & lube center where the manager (wouldn't tell his name & his tag was turned backwards) smiling tells me that 'we've hit a snag' he goes on to tell me that I have a cross-threaded lug nut on my right front! I proceed to tell him the WHOLE front end was just rebuilt using ALL NEW parts & his 'mechanic' messed up. He immediatly got defensive & while still smirking blamed whoever did the previous repairs. I told him I do my own repairs as i've been a mechanic for 17 years now. They refused to recognize they messed up so I tell them to give me my car back. They put the 2 lug nuts back on (that they took 30 minutes to get off) & gave me my car back now with a stuck-all-the-way-out lug nut so after work today I get to do the 2.81 repair myself (And thats why walmart makes so much money! Nobody gives a crap about the consumer there) I should've never forgotten my golden rule of my cars & trucks: NOBODY WORKS ON MY STUFF BUT ME! Like I said, silly me! I'm not looking for restitution, just trying to get others to realize the local small shop may be a little more expensive, but in my mind, you cant put a price on customer care, service & satisfaction! Twelver of Summerville, SC September 21, 2009 A young man dressed as a mechnics with a light blue shirt and dark blue pants who was behind the counter in the automotive department served me. I told him I needed a battery. What he didn't know was that I needed three batteries. He grabbed a book and asked me what kind of car it was for. I told him it was for a boat and he said it should be a Marine battery. I told him I didn't want to use a Marine battery and he said he couldn't warrenty it. I said that was OK, so he said pick out what you want and walked away from me. I also needed some sparkplugs, so I proceeded to the area where the sparkplugs were and started to use the computer, which said press any button to start. After having no success with the computer because it was broken and seeing no one in this department I proceeded back to the automotive department. Upon arriving back at this department, I overheard him telling a female customer he needed a tool to get at her spare tire. She called her husband to find out what kind of tool she needed. I think it's rather funny that the custome has to furnish their own tools to work on their cars. I then asked another employee for my second battery which goes into one of my vhicles. He looked in the book and said he has no listing on my vehicle, which meant he could not only give me a battery for my vehicl but could not warrenty the battery which is where I was with the first person, who basically said find your own battery. I feel this is not the kind of service that will keep Wal-Mart in business. Greg of Statesboro, GA September 21, 2009 On, September 21, 2009, while shopping at the Statesboro, GA Wal-Mart, I witnessed a Department Manager cussing at another associate about being away from their department. The Dept Manager, Chris, approached the associate and yelled, Get your ass back to the meat department. This verbal attack on the associate was done in front of myself and several other customers, some of whom had small kids. The associate seemed to be agitated after the public display, but failed to tell the manager their thoughts about how she talked to them. This is not how associates should be treated, especially in front of customers. I am not sure what the ethics policy is at Wal-Mart, but I am certain they have strict rules about a Department Manager's conduct when dealing with employee problems. Given the poor demonstration of leadership skills shown by this individual, this looks poorly on Wal-Mart'ltgfs reputation for this particular store. I made attempts to seek assistance with my complaint at the store, but was not given the help that I needed. Please take the time to contact this store manager and ask what their policy is on public humiliation of their employees by management. Since Wal-Mart is the only low price store in this college town, I will be doing shopping there despite this incident. I would however, like to know that my future shopping experiences will not be belittled by bully managers who want to make a scene to make themselves look good. Thank you for your time. Christel of Coram, NY September 16, 2009 Your store in Centereach is undergoing a major renovation and while I applaud all the efforts, and the store does look nicer, I have two serious complaints: 1. Relocation of Service Desk - it has now been moved to a ridiculously small area at the very entrance to the store. There is no room for customers to stand or negotiate their way to the return desk as it is so SMALL and already congested with all the baskets of return items - and it isn't even the holiday season yet! It is right at the front door, so there is no logical place to stand or queue up. ABSOLUTELY no room for the staff to handle all the returns properly - and it would become even more chaotic during the holiday season as there is no place for the staff to put all the returned items. Even more importantly, for the staff, it is a tiny, dreary, and airless space for in which to work. 2. Bathrooms - while the old bathrooms were a disgrace, the new ones, although nicely tiled and certainly more appealing at first glance - STALLS ARE TINY! I am a very averaged size woman and found that the stalls are so narrow, it is absolutely ridiculous. How about a slight re-think on these items. Please tell me that Walmart will react to customer complaints and ensure that staff as well as customers are treated with consideration and respect. [They] can't expect people to work in an unpleasant environment and [they] can't expect customers and staff to use bathrooms that are no bigger than cattle shutes. Jason of Fort McMurray, AB September 15, 2009 I had just made a purchase, a hair dryer to be specific. Anyhow, I walked out of the store and the alarm beeped. Not a big deal, it happens alot. So I stopped and allowed them to review my receipt. To my suprise the employee started opening up the box of the hair dryer frantically. I asked him what he was doing and he abruptly told me to "Shut Up" in a loud, stern voice. Loud enough for other patrons to hear. Needless to say I was mortified. I again tried to speak and the employee, in his exact words, told me"to shut the hell up you f---- i know there is something in this box". needless to say, there was nothing other than the hair dryer i purchased. I was speechless. Never have I had an experience like this in my life. I LOVE Wal-Mart and shop there regularly. However, I do not believe after this experience I can return. I was completely humiliated in front of the staff and other patrons watching in disbelief. I know wish I had gotten this persons name but in the midst of everything I grabbed my hair dryer(now out of the box) and left. Judy of Hollywood, FL September 14, 2009 Wallmart, a vendor for AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile, and who advertises their wireless service counter as being open on Sundays until 8PM, is not. I arrived at 7:10PM. I was unable to purchase a replacement phone for my husband's water-damaged one and will have difficulty finding another opportunity to do so. Brian of Berkeley Springs, WV September 14, 2009 This is a video of Walmart in Martinsburg, West Virginia. The Store Manager, David, takes a cigarette break instead of helping the long lines of customers at the check-out. phillip of wagoner, OK September 14, 2009 a man caught [me] at the door on my way out of walmart, with no identification, no wal mart jacket. he told me i stole a cup of popcorn chicken. my 13 year old legally blind daughter had handed me a empty cup when i had asked her to go get items we needed, because she needs practice doiing things on her own. i just threw the empty cup in the garbage as i went back to find my 15 yr old daughter who was helping my mentally handicap niece find clothing. i understand i must had appeared odd to security bouncing back and forth from one group of my family to the other group. the security guard said he had seen me and my family working the store before like i am some sort of professional thief, he claimed my whole family was thieves, but i was the only one he could get on anything. he called the police after i told my niece and daughter to go to the truck with my wife who is also legally blind. he treated me like trash, they were trying to arrest me for petty larceny. the head of security finally let me go and took my name and said if their is a problem with me at walmart again it will be considered trespassing... no problems here because i will never return to a walmart ever again. i will let my money go to the locals in my community.
