I would just like to say as an employee of WALMART VISION CENTER, I would like to help with clearing up some of the complaints on this site. Just to make things clear there are TWO different types of Vision Centers located in Walmart across the country. There is WALMART VISION CENTERS, own and operated by WALMART. These stores have the same customer service standards at the entire Walmart Store. Customer Service is KEY and #1.

The others are called Vision Center INSIDE of Walmart (also known as Nation Vision). These locations are leased and are NOT own or operated by Walmart Corp. In my local area Walmart Corp has just took over a Vision Center that was once run by NVI. If your Store is a Walmart Corp Store you should have NO PROBLEMS, and if for some reason you do. Go to the next level rather it be the Store Manager, District Manager or Home Office. Walmart is known from making the CUSTOMER HAPPY

I feel I was unfairly targeted by members of management at Wal-mart. Today I was called into the office for "lack of productivity" or slow productivity. My department manager as well as other co-workers can vouch that I am a good employee, I don't cause any trouble and I always do what is asked and required. I was given a verbal coaching and now I am facing termination.

The reason I feel I was unfairly targeted is because over the course of my employment at this particular Wal-mart I've seen various employees slacking on the job. When I say slacking I mean sitting down not lifting a finger while others of us are sweating and working hard. Members of management know who is working and who isn't yet they refuse to coach those individuals who are not productive. I was singled out for an unjust reason and now I may be out of a job. And for what reason. Their reason lacks merit. I'm a good employee by all definitions yet they want to get rid of me.

Maybe they are trying to cut costs due to the current economic situation our country is facing, I'm not sure but I don't think it is fair to put someone in unemployment for an unjust reason. I think if you're going to coach or write someone up be fair about and coach everyone who it applies to not just a select few that members of management want to get rid of. Be fair across the board is all I'm asking. Is that unreasonable?

Rose of Medina, OH July 29, 2009

We purchased a Home Trends patio set about 2 years ago from this store. On July 25,2009 we heard a loud boom and went outside to investigate and found the glass top had exploded into thousands of pieces. We worked for several hours picking up and vacuming the deck but days later are still finding small shards everywhere especially under the deck which is located over the entrance to our walk-out basement. I of course can not use the deck until I am sure every shard has been picked up and disposed of properly.

The probllem with this is I have four dogs and we use both exits out of the house many times a day. The deck is also my only means of using my powerchair because I am disabled and cannot walk for only very short distances. But my dogs are the real problem. I am so afraid they might get glass in their feet. So far we have been lucky and this has not occured.

I now understand that there have been hundreds of complaints about exploding patio tops. WHY hasn't something been done about this problem? Surely all the consumers who have experienced this problem must have some rights. At the very least an agreement to replace the tops with a quality galss or return the purchase price of these sets. What has to happen before we are recognized about our valid complaint. Does someone have to be seriously injured before any action is taken on this problem?

Donna of Conroe, TX June 24, 2009

As a front end cashier, I was offered a different position within the accounting dept. as a overnight shift accounting clerk which included an extra .50 cents per hour differental pay as stated in the employee handbook. After 3 payday periods went past I was never compensated for the shift diffrental pay. I brought it to the district manager's attention via multiple emails and phone call discussions and I was told by Craig Smith with Walmart that my non pay wage was "trival".

This caused me mental and emotional distress as well as getting blacked marked with Walmart. Now I'm not egliable for rehire. Please help me get what I deserve .

I was injured at work almost 2 months ago. I immediately went to a member of management and told them EXACTLY what happened. The manager denied the incident because he did not fill out a report as he is required to do. Now, almost 2 months later, they tried to get me to change my story by bullying me in an office with 4 managers and myself alone. I stuck to my story.

Then, the said they had an associate that gave them a written statement saying he or she saw me running in the park with my children. (Completely false by the way) They wanted me to see their doctor but I didn't. Under Pennsylvania law, if your employer does not have their doctors information posted in the employee areas, you are free to see your own doctor. Later, I called the store manager to ask if I can come into work and he said, "No, you cannot come to work until you see our doctors. You refused terms of employment....which gives grounds for termination." Yes, he fired me.

I got a worker's comp lawyer to help me with this situation. We called the store back and AGAIN they denied that this was told to me. The way that I was treated was very unprofessional and I was showed nothing but disrespect. I will never let this go nor change my story because this is completely 100% true and I will not be bullied into saying something different. I hope someone in the main office sees this and contacts me.

at first i filled out an application and the co manager said i passed it but not with a high enough score so he told me to retake the test and when i did he said i passed it but i have 2 applications on the system and he said i would have to wait 2 years in order to retake the test because the home office will not let him hire me

I have worked at walmart for a year this coming may 2009. I was let go April 8, 2009 due to absences I didn't have. I asked the co-manager to look at the schedule board to see i was re lined(meaning another manager switched my hours to another time) He refused to look at them. Then when I called him out, he fired me. Waited two months before he fired me for that accusation. The next day I tried to talk to ass. manager Rick to get my job back and he changed the story saying I got fired for cell phone use while on a register. I tried to tell him milatary time on the registers confuse me so I pull my phone out only to look at the time. He continued to do other things, while in tears I try to get his full attention and try to get my job back. Nothing but a sword in the heart.

It not only effected me, with 3 small kids under 6 years, with high bills, but also my regular customers who loved me being their cashier. I was good at my job, and I loved it. I miss it so much. I'm just trying to figure out how to get my job back.

I would like to know why the music has been taken away. I work cleaning floors all night in bradford pa. I have noticed employees attitudes going south sence it stoped. People seam to be nasty to each other more often. I for 0ne enjoyed listing to the request show at night. Know its so boring i don't even want to go to work any more. Its bad enough you put the smokers outside with out any way of keeping warm (It gets to -20 degrees most all winter long) Now you take our music too. I would like an honest reason to make me feel better about it Thanks WHATS NEXT
