Josh of Madison, IN April 1, 2009

Josh of Madison IN (04/01/09)
I would like to adress the issue from a Walmart associates point of view. I know that I cannot speak for every Walmart, but I would like to point out my daily and weekly procedure in the pet department of the Walmart in Madison Indiana. On a daily basis, I clean the glass of each of the twenty-five tanks that I take care of. After that, I check for dead fish and try to figure out the reason of death before disposing of them. If the cause is something harmful to the other fish, such as ick, I let my department manager know about the problem. I also make sure that all of the temperatures are in the correct area to maintain healthy conditions.

Every Saturday, I clean each tank thoroughly with a sponge and suck out the necessary amount of water with a tank vac and refill them immediately. After all the tanks are clean, I replace the prefilter AND carbon filter EVERY WEEK as well as cleaning out the filtration area. This is a job that I choose to spend at least three hours on. In addition, I go online to learn about our fish so I can give the costumer as much information for care as I can. I make sure to tell the customer to let their bag float in their tank at home for at least twenty minutes, but it is not a good idea to let the fish stay in the bag for over an hour. It is also best to scoop the fish from the bag into the tank. You do NOT want to pour water from the bag into your tank due to a mild sedative that is added to each bag of fish that leaves the store to prevent the fish from going into shock.

We also offer a forty-eight hour guarantee. You should ask your Walmart about that. If your walmart associate that helped you did not inform you of any of this, all of that information is printed on the bag that your fish comes in. So, for great costumer service in the fish department, come to the Walmart in Madison Indana. I would love to help!

Walmart of Brewer, ME February 14, 2009

Walmart of Brewer ME (02/14/09)
Our CMN Coordinator quit february 12th due to passing out Veteran flyers at the CMN Meeting on the 11th. His name is Don E. He has been with walmart for 20 plus years and has done alot for CMN and the Brewer community. The Market manager Alan yelled at him and told him that he was not allowed to do anything involving fund raising without his consent. We have never dealt with this kind of issue in the past.

Don is very compassionate about what he does and is very respected among the community and the associates at Brewer Super Walmart. He asked me to get involved in raising money for CMN and getting others to get involved. He is the one that got the store involved. The Market Manager has taken away all ways to raise money for CMN. We had umbrellas that hung from the ceiling that brought ina revenue of about 200.00- 500.00 a month depending on the season, time of month, and holidays.

He has also taken out the buckets that the people greeters have at the door and we lost money there too. We can no longer have anyone in the community out in front of the store to promote safety, which is the fire department, No girl scouts or boy scouts or any other community relations that help us to raise money. We cannot have yard sales, craft fairs or any other thing to raise money for cmn. The only program he is allowing is the roundup program.

What you do is when the customer buys merchandise and it totals 23.78 we ask the customer to round up their change to the nearest dollar. I don't have a problem with this what so ever. What I have a problem with is that every little bit of money we raise not only helps children but maybe someone we may know and brings revenue into the store. We can no longer have bbq's to help raise money for an associate who is in need.

He is having management basically threatening cash register operators with their jobs. Management is on edge and the community is upset and you will probably receive many emails about this. We cannot lose Don Emmons because this Market Manager has an attitude. Everyone is afraid of him. Don deserves an apology from Alan and Wendy his assistant.

With Don quitting moral has gone down, the associates are so angry and confused. All the associates are saying what happened to walmart being a family oriented business. It is not all about money. It is the associates that make walmart as well as the customers. By denying the community to stand out in front of our store we lose the reputation of family, community involvement, revenue, moral and a store that just don't care all due a Market Manager who has a big chip on his shoulders.

I am a pass employee (actually manager) of Wal*Mart Supercenters. Being a employee can be just as bad and at times, worse. My main point to cosumers is- is this not how and why you pay less for their products. (Much more less for products at Wal-marts) Sam used to have pride in saying- made in america very, very little is made in the US now (or atleast sold at Wal*marts) and that is what you get with global trading and that is why Wal*mart is the leading retailer. I will not comment on how they love to pass the buck to everyone else and are also experts in this area. You all make them who they currenly are now.

Buyer beware. We do have a choice in where we shop. The saying does go, you get what you pay for. Being a past manager for them, I feel I need to apologize for them, to you. Sam, I believe was an amazing man and honorable. (To my knowledge of him) Money is, the root of all evils, depending on who's hands it is in. Bless America.
