Terri of Elmsford, NY (02/09/08) In May of 2007 I received Botox injections in my face, which I had been doing for ten years. About an hour and a half after the procedure, I developed very disturbing symptoms. I felt as if I was paralyzed. My speech became slurred. I could not walk. The only thing I could do was get in bed. I stayed there for days.
On the third day I called the doctor who had done the procedure and told his office what had happened. He was very alarmed and wanted to see me. I went to a walk-in doctor's office. The doctor there told me there was no way to know if it was in the bloodstream.
I contacted the company that makes Botox and filed a complaint. A representative contacted me and told me he had never heard of such a reaction.
Kelly of Fishers, IN (02/08/08) I got Botox and immediately got shortness of breath and a bad consistent cough. I went back to my plastic surgeon who told me that there is no way that it could be from the Botox. After approximately 3 months of consistent trouble breathing I got it again, and it got worse. I was told again that it could not be the Botox.
I went to Mayo Clinic to see if something serious was wrong with me. I told them that my cough and shortness of breath happened after botox, and they said that botox injection do not cause that symtomology. Then they did other tests on me and found nothing wrong.
