Worst ever! Need prior authorization! They got that from the damn doctors office o but it will take their team 1 to 3 business days to get done! Have had this med before! How would they like to be unable to get comfortable and sleep! Back spasms so bad can’t handle it!

This has been a complete nightmare. Not only did my medication go to the wrong place, my prescription then got cancelled altogether and then I was charged quadruple the amount on my debit card and for a prescription that I never received!

First, I want to say how relieved to see that I am not the only one driven up the wall by this incompetent organization. Unfortunately, I am stuck with Caremark because it is the only Medicare Part D for my insurance plan. Hours upon hours on phone being transferred from one agent to another, each with a different conception of the problem, ending with a promise to be called back with an answer ( no call back ever). Same with online chat, ending with an abrupt disconnect. Message center replies with partial information, on and on....
Prescriptions previously filled properly as to quantity and price, now less quantity but same price with no warning. Emails demanding "approval" without stating either quantity or price. Agents alleging they sent multiple emails that I never received, (and yes I do check junk mail). Multiple instructions from Caremark to have my doctor call, doctor calls, spends precious time over and over filling out their form correctly which Caremark never acknowledges (I know the form is correctly filled out because I have copies).

I am new to CVS Caremark effective 04/01/2026 due to a change in employment. I previously was prescribed Ozempic 02/2023 to 08/2025 and Mounjaro 11/2025 to 01/2026. Due to employment change; no longer able to go to same provider (no longer union employee). Due to recent move went to new doctor 04/2026. Prior authorization denied for Ozempic & Mounjaro due to normal A1C. Obviously A1C normal due to Mounjaro Rx filled covered to 03/31/2026. Went to my previous long time PCP; drove 1 hour since I no longer live near my PCP. PCP prescribed Zepbound. I am pre-diabetic, severe obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, very bad arthritis in knees. My weight previously decreased while using Ozempic. It's frustrating to have been prescribed Ozempic/Mounjaro for over 2 years. Now with new CVS Caremark. Prior authorization denied for Ozempic, Mounjaro, Zepbound.
I understand I am only pre-diabetic. Would be nice for prior authorization for Zepbound to have been approved. Medically necessary due to BMI, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, pre-diabetic (weight loss would improve less weight on arthritic knees) and improve movement without pain. Would like to lose weight. Not a fan of knee surgery especially being overweight. I am 63 years old. Have never had surgery. I have had a weight problem since having my 2 children at age 38 & 40. It's depressing being overweight. Frustrating to work & pay for insurance that doesn't want to pay benefits.
Previously issue with Aetna denied knee x-ray due to worker's compensation injury. Definitely not worker's compensation. I sit at a desk all day. LOL. If current PCP doesn't provide additional documentation or file appeal. I will be filing an appeal. Again, it's crazy having to beg your insurance company to pay claims. Being new to Aetna/CVS Caremark. I have had very few claims! I have been very upset in tears many days. Have spent a lot of time on phone calls, doctor appointments etc. I don't have the money to self-pay for Zepbound. Even with discount card Rx cost over $400.00 per month. I have gone without Ozempic/Mounjaro for over 2 months now. My daily glucose readings are elevated. I am sure eventually my A1C will be increasing.

I am required to use CVS Caremark mail order by my company and they are the worst to deal with. Their online portal is a huge waste of time and you can't really do anything on it, you can maybe see your prescription. Calling is a huge waste of time as they will tell you different things based on who you are talking to. I have nothing but issues with them, but god forbid a company let you chose your own pharmacy that actually cares about their customers.

I pay a lot of money for the Gold medical plan at work. So when I decided to go on Wegovy, I figured I would be covered. After going through the process of having to get the prescription preapproved, I figured I was good. Wrong, they preapproved me, but when I went to pick it up, I was told I owe $1,303 and change. I called CVS only to be told then that the only way to possibly get more coverage was to go through their Weight Management program. I have to meet with their specialist and let them have access to my phone data and prove I am making weekly progress and exercising, and eating their diet. At this point, I am thinking I would be better off without insurance.

I purchased a Simple Mobile refill card from CVS and have been unable to use it. When I scratched off the protective coating, part of the PIN became damaged and unreadable. I contacted Simple Mobile customer service and was informed that they could not locate the barcode or serial number associated with the card in their system. They advised me to return to CVS for assistance. I then contacted CVS and was told that they could not help because the issue was with Simple Mobile. As a result, CVS directed me to Simple Mobile, and Simple Mobile directed me back to CVS.
I am now stuck between the retailer and the service provider, with neither company willing to take responsibility or provide a solution. I paid for a product that cannot be used and have the original receipt and physical card as proof of purchase. I am requesting that CVS and/or Simple Mobile investigate this matter, verify the activation status of the card, and provide either a replacement card or a refund. I simply want the product I paid for to work as intended or to receive reimbursement for the unusable card. Thank you for your assistance.

My employer, a large engineering firm based out of Seattle Washington, has forced this predatory company on us through Regence Group Administrators Blue Cross. God help you if you want to get your medication at your local pharmacy because CVS Caremark will do everything possible to obstruct you from this and will get in between you and your doctor so that they can benefit financially from your medical misfortunes. If you are taking any type of maintenance medication they will hammer you with stupid, nasty snail-mail letters harassing you about getting the prescription filled through them even if you have opted to pay out of pocket yourself and bypass your insurance that you are paying a fortune for via your employee.
If you live in a secure building, look forward to having your prescriptions delivered to the sidewalk if the package deliverer cannot figure out how to get into your building (Where your medication will of course then be promptly stolen). Or if you live in a cold climate, enjoy having your prescriptions delivered to the group mailboxes down the street from your home which are covered with 6 feet of snow in the winter and also having the prescription frozen inside that mailbox. Or be given the option to drive physically to a CVS store inside of a Target, and depending on the weather and road conditions or the ** neighborhood that that CVS might be located in, you may not want to go there either and would like to just choose to get your prescription filled where you would like to have it filled, in person.
The most secure way to get a prescription is directly at the pharmacy in person, not relying on some mail order service. On top of that, good luck getting any human being on the phone at CVS Caremark. Worst company ever, completely without a conscience or soul and shame on the company I work for for contracting with this predatory, disgusting company.

I am writing to express my formal dissatisfaction with the handling of my prescriptions and CVS Caremark. When my company first transitioned to CVS Caremark, I received a letter stating that all current prescriptions would remain unchanged. However, I have since encountered several issues that contradict this promise:
- Unauthorized Substitution: A different name-brand medication was substituted for a generic version without any prior authorization or consultation with me or my doctor.
- Refusal to Honor Physician Instructions: Despite my doctor sending a specific request to maintain the name-brand medication, CVS Caremark refused the request and directed me back to my physician.
These actions prioritize cost-saving measures over the medical necessity established by my healthcare provider. I request that you review my account and honor the original agreement to maintain my existing prescriptions as prescribed by my doctor.
The below is a list of complaints I have experienced as I'm sure others have:Customer Service & Communication: Long wait times, difficulty reaching a live person, and inconsistent information provided by different representatives. Mail-Order Delays: Frequent delays in shipping maintenance and specialty medications, which can lead to missed doses. Coverage Restrictions & Formularies: Being forced to use mail-order or specific CVS-affiliated pharmacies, and sudden formulary changes (e.g., dropping certain weight-loss or specialty drugs) that force patients to switch medications.

How do I loathe them? Let me count the ways. They have so many rules and regulations which create a lot of challenges for customers. The worst of the worst being that they require a 90 day supply for all refills. That’s all good and well if you need a refill of something routine (such as Synthroid or Rosuvastatin), med which a doctor can write a script with a year’s worth of refills for; however, when you have a household full of people on psychiatric medications/controlled substances (such as ADHD meds), there are times you’re going to be up S#it Creek without a paddle.
• suicidal thoughts
• relapse
• Dizziness or vertigo
• Nausea or vomiting
• Flu-like symptoms
• "Brain zaps" (electric shock sensations)
• Insomnia
• Irritability or agitation
• Crying spells
• Anxiety or panic
• Head pressure
• Sweating
• Racing heart
• Mood swings
• Rebound depression or anxiety
It should be illegal to require a 90 day supply for psychiatric medications, for obvious reasons. We recently went through the process of going back-and-forth between our Psychiatrist and CVS Care Mark, with each one telling us they had already done their part, with the holdup being on the other person‘s end. Once our Psychiatrist filled out the paperwork CVS required, CVS neglected to approve it and fill the script for another week. Our child went without his medications for over two weeks, and experienced many of the symptoms listed above, including suicidal ideation. If I could opt for another prescription refill company, I certainly would. I’ve spent countless hours and endless amounts of energy trying to keep my son medicated. Do your homework and look into your options, if you have any!
