Paula of Raleigh, NC (03/13/09) After hearing an add on TV that Rite Aid would match the generic prices at Walmart, we switched all our prescriptions to Rite Aid. This first time they fill the prescription from Walmart they did match the price, after that they charge their regular price unless you question them. Then they have to call Walmart to verify their price and then change the price. This means you wait while all this takes place. The sad part is my parents are very old and sometimes forget to ask about the price since they never had to at Walmart. I hate to switch back to Walmart since the Rite Aid is only a half a block from my house and Walmart is about 7 miles. Shouldn't this be considered false advertising?
Other then being charge too much for a generic that they promised would match Walmart, no physical damage. Carlos of Philadelphia, PA March 5, 2009
Carlos of Philadelphia PA (03/05/09) Weds. March 04th 2008 Est. 8:00pm Rite Aid has a Serious Problem with there Computer System and Store Practices or it's Intended to happen. That's a Lie other stores Refund back to the EBT Card If you Purchased the wrong Item on sale. That what was told to me. Because the Inept Untrained workers don't want to work by doing manual input. I brought it Up to to the Company & they were Happy to Condescend & Blame Me for the problem. Telling Me EBT is meant for Food what else can U buy with EBT Food Card? I have proof of some of these Incidents but not the one from last one night. Because the Manager Refused to override and wanted me to pay 2.90 difference for Cash Food. and that's all I was Buying. I have No Breakfast for then Next Day.....Today.
I can't get Items on Sale & I can't Purchase Food so I go Hungry until I go to a Super Market and have to Pay Full Price not sales price. Scott of Cool, CA March 5, 2009
Scott of Cool CA (03/05/09) I've recently been experiencing some anxiety from bipolar II disorder, so I had my doctor write me some prescriptions. Temazepam 15mg 30 day supply, and Paroxetine 10mg 30 day supply. Since I don't have insurance, I called around for some no-insurance quotes. Rite Aid's discount card had the best prices with 8.99 for the Paroxetine and 15.99 for the Temazepam. I decided to have my prescriptions filled 2 days after receiving these quotes. I have a Caremark discount card on file along with a Rite Aid discount card according to my old Rite Aid in Truckee, CA.
The Auburn, CA Rite Aid told me that I had Caremark insurance and that I didn't qualify for the Rite Aid discount card. I was very disappointed with this and walked out the door having to pay 51.58 rather than 8.99 for the Paroxetine. After going back home and doing some research I decided to call them and question the price. I asked the pharmacy why I was quoted 8.99 over the phone and actually charged 51.58. She told me that that was what my insurance charged. I told her that I do not have insurance. I told her that I have a Caremark discount card through a local program in Truckee, CA. She said that I have insurance and that Rite Aid doesn't offer programs like that. I told her again that I don't have insurance, just a Truckee local discount card through Caremark. She told me that Rite Aid doesn't provide insurance for customers, and she couldn't understand why I couldn't understand that.
At this point I was extremely frustrated at telling her that I don't have insurance, which I don't, and told her she needed to call my Truckee Rite Aid to straighten this out. She refused, and I hung up. I then called Truckee to see if indeed it was a discount card and not insurance. They confirmed this. I then called the Rite Aid 1-800-RiteAid number to see if I could use more than 1 discount card at a time, and they said yes I can. I called the Auburn, CA RiteAid back and told them that I don't have insurance, that I have a Caremark discount card, that I'm entitled to a Rite Aid discount card, and that they need to call my Truckee, CA Rite Aid. The pharmacy said again that they couldn't understand what I was talking about and insisted that I had insurance and wasn't eligible for an additional card. She then told me that people were waiting in line for their scripts and I was causing them problems. This was obviously to make me feel guilty.
I asked again if they would just call the Truckee, CA Rite Aid, and she said in a very rude way, maybe when I have time. I also told her that when they get it straightened out to please put my Paroxetine on the Rite Aid plan. She responded by asking me, are you serious? I called my Truckee, CA Rite Aid again and explained my frustrations with the Auburn, CA Rite Aid. Knowing me for years in Truckee, they couldn't believe the treatment I was receiving and were embarrassed to be part of Rite Aid. They said that I've been one of the nicest customers over the years and would do whatever they could to help.
There also seems to be a little problem with Rite Aid's computers, but in no way does this excuse the treatment that I received in Auburn, CA. I was basically called a liar, they now are refusing to serve me, and I believe this to be mental discrimination too. Paid too much for prescription Denied services that were entitled to me Mental anguish: I was there for anxiety and Bipolar II disorder medication, and these people turned my day into a nighmare. Tracy of Kearny, NJ March 3, 2009
Tracy of Kearny NJ (03/03/09) I was shopping like any other Day I noticed at the corner of my eye someone kept passing me by. i was the only person in the isle at the time. i turned around seeing another employee watching me. i felt very uncomfortable. i was looking for a specific item so i never moved. the person passed me like 4 times. i kept seeing the blue shirt so when i had everything i was going to buy i started to leave the isle. when i see him again i said to him are you serious watching me like he was trying to catch someone stealing.
i told him i didn't appreciate him watching me making me feel very uncomfortable. he was very rude. he was very sarcastic and unprofessional to be a manager. i told both of them who were watching me i come in here at least once or twice a week. NEVER IN MY LIFE DO I HAVE A NEED TO STEAL SHOWING THEM MY MONEY. THEY BOTH DENIED WATCHING ME. I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT I TOLD THEM I WILL NEVER SHOP IN THERE AGAIN WHILE HE WAS SMILING IN MY FACE. I WILL TELL ALL MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS NOT TO SHOP THERE. I WILL CONTACT THERE CORPORATE OFFICE TO MAKE A COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS MANAGER.
Amber of Burbank, CA February 23, 2009
Amber of Burbank CA (02/23/09) I have been going to fill and pick up Perscriptions for years at my local Rite-Aid. I was going into the store to purchase some facial products, after not being there for a month or so. I saw a huge sign in front of Rite-Aid that said STORE CLOSING. This Rite-Aid had been at this location for at least 7 years and all of a sudden they were closing their doors. My first thought was, Where are my perscriptions?
I asked a General Cashier about the Pharmacy because it looked emptied out and closed up. She said, All of your Rite-Aid Pharmacy Percriptions haver been transfered over to CVS pharmacy. I asked her when the store was closing and she replied, When everything is gone. I was extremely upset by this, because the perscriptions were the first to go, but the rest of the store was still full and in-tact.
No one from Rite-Aid called or notified me in ANY way that MY perscriptions were at another company. I went to CVS and they were so difficult to deal with. They were slow and rude to people that have unwillingly come to their pharmacy from Rite-Aid. I felt that my personal security was threatened. Information such as SS numbers, Insurance Companies names and numbers, addresses, types of medication and other personal info OF MINE, were given to another company WITHOUT MY PERMISSION.
I feel that this is a violation of my personal saftey and personal life. I don't believe California State Law states you can move someones personal information to another individual or company without their full permission. My rights were taken away. I have missed several Birth Control pills because CVS couldn't find any information on me. When they did finally get my info and called my doctor, they said it would be 24-48 hours to get a RX. I couldn't get my birth control that I needed in time, because of the swift, quiet move of Rite-Aid perscriptions to another company. Jessica of New Orleans, LA February 23, 2009
