New Jersey Sues Rite Aid for Consumer Fraud

Jessica of New Orleans LA (02/23/09)
Ms. Tranh took my prescription that was prescribed after a food poisoning incident and then asked me to write down name & address which was already on prescription. She filled the prescription; however, she did not provide any instructions on the bottle nor on a print-out for use of the medications. The bottle only had take as needed. I did not know as needed for what. I had to call to determine which medicine was for vomiting, diarrhea or stomach pains so that I can know which to take as symptoms present.

When I called I was told that their machine was broken that prints out instructions. If their machine was broken Ms. Tran had a fiduciary responsiblity to verbally advise of uses at the time she filled the prescription. Ms. Tran's actions can result in patient's over or under use of medications.

Because I called the pharmacy, I was able to ascertain the uses of my medicine but I'm concerned about those who do not.

Brought HD Converter Box and Rite Aid will not take it back and Company will not refund and Clerk at Rite Aid did not tell me that I had to have coupon first to get my 40.00 back and I can not use it at my house because there is not strong enough Atenna sevice and can not afford 150.00 for stronger atenna.. How can I rec'd a refund of 60.00 for this box I can not use. The HD Ads on TV do not tell you that most likely you will have to purchase one of their atenna's to rec service of tv stations. Thank you

I ffel that this is somewhat of a scam and the GOV is involved in this and I feel I should be able to return this product to Rite Aid and rec my money back.

4 new prescriptions were dropped off to be filled. Three for me and one for wife. Went to pick them up an hour later. When I got home I saw that the Atenol 25mg had my name on the bottle not wife. I also had my blood pressure filled which was not Atenol. How Kaiser approved two for me is another story.

When I called pharmacy the head pharmacist stated we are human and all make mistakes. Prescriptions are suppose to be checked by two people. What would have happened if I did not look at bottle and took it? I called 1-800 riteaid and they swept it under rug.

I have to refill my prescriptions monthly and everytime I go I pay a different copay on the same drugs. Well, this last time I got a refill of my blood pressure medicine and the copay was about 1.50 more than normal. I said to myself wow how am I supposed to know what I'm supposed to pay? Well, I took my meds like usual, but something seemed off. I look at the pill and it is totally different than the pill that I normally take. It is bigger, has different coloring, and though it has the same markings on one side they are different on the other side. My normal prescription is Diovan HCT 160-25 Marking NVR HXH and what they gave me is Diovan HCT 320-25! They dispensed double my normal dose!!

I was feeling lethargic and weak, with muscle pain. I went online and compared the medicine that I have with what I normally get and will not take my second dose today.
