Dennis of Kingston, NY October 5, 2009

Fractured femur did not heal; in hospital/nursing home for 8 months. Devastating economic and personal damage. Also had a failed spinal operation from result of taking Vioxx. Note that several operations were all successful when Vioxx was not introduced onto the market, yet when I began taking it, major healing problems resulted with at the time, no surgeons understanding why that would happen.

Also, there are issues of Fosamax and broken femurs. I strongly feel that my broken femur was from Fosamax, and Fosamax can also affect bone healing by stopping the normal process of bone regeneration.

Merck did not admit that its Vioxx drug not only created cardiovascular issues, but it has an extremely negative impact on bone-spine healing. Literature by major scientific institutes, surgeons, hospitals, etc. have converged that cox-2 inhibitors do indeed damage (and usually even stop) bone-spine healing. Merck knew this issue as far back as 1998 (via internal emails), yet chose to ignore it and market the drug anyway.

As a result, estimates can easily show 50,000 people have been very negatively affected with orthopedic surgery which failed and/or fractures which did not heal. Do a google on "vioxx bone healing" and one will see what I mean. Merck STILL refuses to take a position on this or even acknowledge the potential - they have successfully hidden the problem for years so that it would not affect sales/high incremental profits and as a result, thousands and thousands including myself have suffered major damage.

Ruthie of Bossier City, LA August 25, 2009

I took a drug Vioxx from 1999-2001 twice daily. I was diagnosed with heart disease and spent a few days in the hospital. I was living in OH at that time. Since living in LA, I found out too late that I indeed could have participated in the class action suit. But in the beginning Merck was Only accepting cases of death from Vioxx or strokes!

When I kept calling the phone number for the Vioxx, I first was told in Ohio that I was not eligible. But in 3/2008, I received forms due to an extension by the class Action. Now, I am being told I can not participate because I did not file by 11/2007. I am physically suffering heart disease, hypertension and joint & muscle pain. My eonomic situation is indigent because I had to resign from my job due to Vioxx consumption.

Please let me know if I can hire an attorney and go after this company some kind of way. My daughter had to take care of me and missed out on much of her high school days. I did not know this drug had been recalled. None of my doctors alerted me.

i had several side effects from vioxx. i was very sick for a very long time. i had symptoms and side effects of a stroke. then i had side effects and symptoms of heart attack. i started vioxx in 1999 age 35. i stopped vioxx 2004 age 40-41. i was seen in doctors office and emergency room several times. i had heart attack 2008 in front of heart doctor after walking 2 minutes and 20 seconds on tread mill. now these symptoms i had in front of heart doctor is the very same symptoms i had when i went to ER and doctor office. i had blurred and loss of vision, numbness in face, arm, hand, leg feet, rash on face, neck, chest, upper back, (severe head pain was not a headache or migrain) it was the worse pain ever. i would be unconsciouss with this head pain, i couldnt respond to family or doctors,

i have memory problems, i get confused very easy, i cant concentrate, i had swelling in face, hands, legs, feet, ankles. i had severe chest and back pain, lower jaw pain, left arm pain. bloodspots in whites of eyes, twitching eyelids, conjuctivtis, my legs would feel so tight and it hurt to bend them, weakness, short of breath, what i thought was heartburn, tired all the time, my heart would race at times, and then beat really slow at times. i was so weak i couldnt even sit at table and visit family just trying to carry on conversation wore me out. i got to where i couldnt climb stairs, i had alot of problems after starting vioxx.

i blame Merck for all my health problems that i have had since Dec. 1999. they should be made to pay each and everyone of us that took vioxx and had side effects from it, not just pay the ones that got lawyers and got them into vioxx program settlement, thats not fair, we all have pain, suffering, emotional pain, stress, depressed, medical bills, we have FEELINGS too. Merck should be made to do right to all the people who got injuried by vioxx! Thank You!

i took vioxx on and off from 1999-2004. i became very sick. i have had both symptoms of a stroke and heart attack since i started vioxx. well april 2008 i finally got a new doctor, my first visit with him he checked my breathing, listened to my heart and done a EKG. then he said im sending you to have stress test, few days later i went. i met my heart doctor for the first time. i told him and his staff i didnt think i could do this. they said awww we will be right here. then i turn and ask my doctor are you staying he said yes, staff got me prep.,i got on tread mill and walked 2 minutes and 20 seconds. my legs started hurting, my heart starting racing, and chest pain. doctor stopped everything told staff to get chair they started giving me medicine and nitro, doctor told staff get crash cart. now i was really scared. then he said get her a bed get altra sound of heart. then he admitted me, next morning sent me to heart hospital in Indianapolis IN.

they admitted me, next morning they came got me took me for surgery i had to have a stent put in. all my doctors told me and my family that i was lucky to be alive, and that i was to young to be having these problems. thank God for my 2 new doctors. all the other doctors i had seen since i started vioxx could not ever find anything wrong. i think that they all thought i was to young to have these problems, and just ignored my signs and symptoms. i was 35-36 years old when i started having these problems.

i was so ill one night i had severe head pain it was NOT a headache or migrain. my daughter called doctor she explained to him what i was doing and that i had head pain all day i had taken 4 tylenol and a vioxx the doctor told my daughter that the vioxx alone should of stopped the head pain. that doctor told my daughter to get your mother to ER ASAP that it sounds like your mother is having a stroke, i heard everything that my family was saying, but i could NOT speak one word it was like my body had froze. i tried to raise my hand and arm to sit up on couch but they wouldnt move.

my husband took me to ER i dont remember the nurses doctors or anything that happened except the 2 or 3 shots and 2 pills they gave me, i dont remember the ride to the hospital or back home i do remember coming up to my back door, still today i cant remember. this has happened to me several times. i thought i was dying that night. this is the night that the Dr. put on my ER paper unconsicness. i was so ill i quit my job in May 2004, i couldnt deal with everything at work, and try to work in all the pain i was having, i had enough, i was to weak, and tottaly out of energy.

i think merck should have to pay everyone who got ill from this vioxx. i feel like i dont have a claim or case against merck, cause none of the lawyers i e-mailed wanted to help me. and thats not fair to me and others, i mean does a person have to be dead, or bed ridden before they have a claim against merck? im sure lots of vioxx users feels the same way that i do. do you know how i could put in a claim against merck? or do you know who i should contact? thank you!

I purchased a Diamond WD65909 DLP HD TV 6 years ago. Last year it suddenly refused to turn on. Called a Mitsubishi service rep and was told it was going into safe mode and there was a power supply problem. The rep came to my house and removed the guts for repair. It was returned 1 week later. After about 2 days the same thing happened. Again the rep came to remove unit for repair. Again it failed within 1 week.

This occured FIVE more times! Finally it appeared to be working properly. The Repair cost was 750 on a 5000 TV. After 6 months the same thing happened. I'm done. I will never purchase a Mitsubishi product again!

Scott of Lawrence, KS November 14, 2007

Scott of Lawrence KS (11/14/07)
I had taken Vioxx for the first surgery of its kind starting Febr.7th,2002. I took the whole prescription as directed. It made me feel less pain but severly uncomfortable. I asked the Dr. for a different drug when I was in the patient room for the next nessecary surgery, before he started. He exclaimed there was no alternative and I was blocked from getting out of the patient chair by his assistant. I felt intimidated into not getting out of the chair and his office because I won't push a woman. He ignored my question by not answering satisfactorily if my regular meds would not be compatible with his Vioxx.

He was skilled as an Orthodontist but I believe he had not read up on my two then prescriptions. That surgery was on a Monday and I had severe head pain on the coming Saturday. I was able to bite my teeth together to avoid a stroke, but I suffered from very bad aftershocks. I was very stunned and unaware afterwards. Dr. Fulbright from Lawrence Memorial Hospital South wing was able to diagnose an anyeurism when I finally thought I should ask for help.

I told him Vioxx was what I had been taking at that time pain occurred. I was worried about taking too much on but decided I should do as suggested and felt safe enough to have Magnetic Resonance Imaging pictures of my head taken as Dr. Fullbright said.

I was delayed in going back to college for my automotive career until early 2007. I found it hard to talk like before the aneyurism and had stammering problems and speech/language with poor focus and impaired memory problems. I have suffered socially and have family problems as a result. I take good care of myself and was only thirty five during the anyeurism. I was athletic and have had two chest illnesses and been in the hospital ER due to the poor concentration then which has somewhat improved under my Doctor's care.
