DMK Value Plus
7101 Winnetka Ave N,Minneapolis, MN 55428 800-597-1001

Sergiu of Brookline, MA, writes:
A charge for $104.99 attributed to "DMK*VALUE PLUS" appeared on my credit card. I called their 800 number. The first person who answered the call told me that I had agreed on a one-year membership, which had started one month ago. However, they can refund $86.

I pointed out that I didn't agree on any membership, but in any case one month (1/12) of $105 is $8.75, so I should be refunded $96.25. She said, with growing impatience, that the membership was only $99.99, but $5 was for "shipping and handling," and that is not refundable.

I pointed out to her that I did not have anything shipped or otherwise handled, so that I expected $96.25. She said that "THE SYSTEM" only allows her to refund me $86, but she can send me a form in 10-15 business days to ask for the rest. By now, she was screaming into the phone.

I asked for a supervisor. About 5 minutes later I got one, and started from scratch. Same story. I asked for her manager. She said that the manager was on vacation. I asked for the manager's name. She answered that security prevents her for saying the name. I then asked for the manager's manager. She said she believed that that manager was on vacation too.

I was growing impatient, and asked her to refund the whole thing. She said she couldn't. I said that this was unacceptable, and I demand my money back. She refused. She asked for my address to send the form. I asked her what address she had for me, and it turned out she had an address that was 3.5 years old! So how could I have bought their service 2 months ago when they didn't even have my address. They clearly used an old credit card charge!

So far, I have $104.99 wrongly charged to my account, and a really offensive 45 minute conversation with people who are clearly NOT in the "customer service" business.

This is either a scam or evidence of extreme incompetence. It will be interesting to see if this happens to others.
