Kroger

Tina of Clute, TX March 3, 2009

Tina of Clute TX (03/03/09)
I've been a customer of Kroger for 46 years and my mother for 66. One day, there seemed to be a communication problem between the doctor and the pharmacy. Knowing the pharmacist,Tau as I do, I talked directly to her explaining my situation in which i was told very nicely that I would need to contact the dr. first and then he would contact them. So, I called the dr.'s office who said that Kroger would have to contact them. So I call Tau back and asked her would she please hurry and fax the request and it was getting late and the doctor may not get to it before closing.

I forgot to mention that this was for blood pressure medicatiotion that she had been unable to get for four previous days because of blunders such as these. The dr.'s office told me that they had as matter of fact taken special care to put her at the front of the line and had faxed the required approval ten minutes previous. I called my mom and told her not to worry it would be on the way.

She then said she took her own pressure 3 times (she has one of those machines) and it read 130/101. So I immediately called Tau back and told her of my mom's situation now and could she please go check on the approval? She immediately lost it on me. In her asian voice with was a little hard to understand she told me that she could not answer any blood pressure questions and what I needed was a medical doctor. She said that she had been there since 3 p.m. and I had called her 3 times already bugging her during the busiest time of the day. She would waste no more time on me, but if she had a dr approval she would fill prescription and that is all that is required of her!

She asked me to hold as she took care of someone else and when she got back on the phone to try to smooth thing over , at this point I had enough. Every pharmacist I have ever dealt with, even though they can't give medical advice, always had some basic medical knowledge such as when is blood pressure dangerous enough to get to a dr.,etc. I felt no empathy or compassion in her voice.

As she was trying to talk I flat out told her that I was quite aware of her feelings and I would only speak to her boss. So, instead of giving me a phone number, she transfers me to the store manager, who totally agreed with her and stated like a broken record they could do nothing without a doctors approval. I told him I was quite aware of that and if he would check the fax machine or the magic approval box it would be there. He said he had checked it three times and it wasn't there which I told him I thought was odd because by the time we all finished our dance it was faxed about 20 minutes before. He still just set there repeating We cannot help you without a Dr.'s approval. I told him his total sense of apathy surprised me more than anything else and don't be surprised to hear from me again.

I hung up and my phone immediately rang. It was my mother. To my surprise, she and Tau had been talking and Tau had told her she could give a loaner pill!!! If she had mentioned that to me on the very first call, all of this would have been avoided. So I sent my son to go pick up the loaner, called Tau back and instructed her to give my son the loaner and wait to fill the rest of the prescription so my mother would not have to wait 30 more minutes plus drive time to get her medication.

15 minutes later, I get a call from my mother saying my son is not there. Well, I thought, he had to stop and get gas so maybe that held him up some. We began to talk and he showed up while I was on the phone with her. She got her medicine and everybody was happy. I was still griping about Kroger to my mom when my son got home.

This is the kicker to the whole story. When my son got to the pharmacy, one of the techs went to give the loaner to him. Tau called her over and took the loaner back. Then she said to my son, You need to wait 5 minute. No s. I have this pet peeve about plurals but that is neither here nor there. It is just one more thing that irked me about the whole situation. Then she gave the tech the FULL BOTTLE OF ALTACE. It had been ready the whole time they were sitting there. She just had to be catty enough to make them wait 5 minutes.

Pharmacists have a lot of power when it comes to life and the quality of it. I would go so far to say that they sometimes have control over life and death. And to let petty differences come between that awesome responsibility is just unconscionable. When I try to get numbers for complaints, above and beyond the store manager who has already shown his true colors, I am told the only one that has them is the one true manager of the store.

My doctor telephone a new medicine in on 2/20/09. I called to inquire if prescription was there on 2/20/09, 2/21/09 and 2/22/09; each time the person I spoke with said no, nothing was there as of yet. I called 4 other prescriptions in on 2/23/09 and went over to pick them up at 8:15 p.m.

After receiving the prescriptions I had telephone in I decided to ask again while I was there if my doctor had call a new medication or changed any of the medication I was receiving. The clerk went to check and to my surprise another medication was in the pick up tray and had been t here since 2/20/09. Mine me I had been calling since 2/20/09 about this medicine. My blood pressure was 190/85 and this is the reason the doctor was starting me on another medication and I sould have started on it on 2/20/09 but unfortunatly the pharmacy said it was not there and it was and unfortunatly they did not call me and they knew I needed the medication. At the end of the transaction of paying for the medication--the four prescriptions I had telephone in and the new prescription that I should have been taking since 2/20/09, the pharmacy charge me for six (6) prescriptions instead of five.

Now I'll be inconvenience by going back to the pharmacy and standing in lines to get my 4.00 returned. Just a note: the pharmacist on duty on 2/23/09 at 8;15p.m. was very nasty and not very customer orientated. I spend a lot of money at Kroger stores along with intrusting my prescription health needs to their pharmacy and they did not think enough of my service to call me or tell me when I called that my medication was there. The pharmacist told me if the medication was not picked up within five (5) DAYS then they call the customer.

My blood pressure is very high and I have to confront these people that have no customer service training. I have bad knees and I have to stand and wait in line

I was at the leestown Kroger store in Lexington KY, buying light bulbs and thought I would pick up a pay as you go cell phone card for my financ'e and I thought she had a Tracfone so I bought it knowing I have always been able to bring back the card if the scratch off was in tack, I went through the auto check out and on the way past the cash reg the clerk handed me a receipt for the card. This was after I paid for it.

I went back and tried to get a refund and was refused and told gift cards were not refundable. I did not know I even bought a gift card I have always bought pre paid phone cards for us but not as gifts. No where is it posted anywhere this was a gift card nor is there any display telling anyone they are no refundable that we could find. I asked him why if I bought the wrong brands of cigarettes that they would refund it and he just said that's different and I should have known I bought a non refundable card for a phone. The ticket I got handed after I paid at the automatic check out said not refundable when I read it today. This is Just wrong. I had business and if there was no refund on anything I had to post it why does Kroger get away with it

I am out 40.00 and do not know anyone with a phone that can use this. I bought a 40.00 piece of plastic with no warning I could not get a refund in any type before I bought this card. Help me and others who do not know at Kroger's on Leestown rd deos not warn anyone that they can not get a refund or credit for there cell phone. We live on less than 1000.00 a month SSD this hurts us a lot by losing money and not being warned.

On Saturday January 17, 2009 I had a prescription filled at the pharmacy using the new insurance I changed to which is AARP MedicareRX plans UnitedHealthcare. The worker in there told me that they do not have this Co. on their list for 4 prescriptions and made me pay 38 in order to get it as I needed it. She went on to tell me that this company does not pay for Generic Drugs. I was heart sick because I cannot afford Co-Pays like this and now I am stuck with this Insurance for another year?

I am 80 years old and use a wheel chair most of the time and am on 02 all the time. I do not need the stress this lady put me under! I was sick too at the time so didn't start calling until yesterday. I called Medicare, Social Security, and this company. I asked this Company about not being on your list and they told me they were on your list??? I then asked them for a list of Pharmacies that would honor this insurance. They put me on hold while they researched this. When they came back on they started with CVS, KROGERS, And Georges who are opening up a new store here in my small town.

Now I had been getting my prescriptions at Krogers for years. This person needs to be educated as to what she tells people, especially handicapped people who have always driven 9 miles in order to have a riding cart to get groceries and her medicine. I think I need and apology and she better do her research before she tells anyone else that they do not honor this insurance. By the way my sister in law has the same insurance and goes to a Kroger Store in Hamilton, Ohio and was never told any thing like this. She just got one of hers and paid only 4. I seen my Dr. on Tuesday and he gave me a new prescription for this medicine.

I refuse to go back to Kroger's to get this filled and right now I think I will go to the new one that is opening up here. I am totaly fed up with what this person told me on Saturday which was not true at all. This insurance was Medicare approved and why this girl told me that this insurance does not pay for Generic drugs was a total lie! I have my receipt to show that I was in there and purchased this from the pharmacy. There is a name on the receipt but I don't know if it is hers or not.

Price difference from one kroger to another. exsample Cherries near my home 3.99 lbs and cherries at the Union city and Dunwoody location 1.99 lbs. Ask customer service rep why the big difference and was told different regions. This to me was not acceptable, being that the Union City store is 5 miles fron the college Park store.

I have decide that when I want to shop I will have to go 5 miles out of my way on shop near my job. We have always tried to support our community but this makes it hard. Knowing that we will have to pay more because of where we live. Walmart will match a prices of other stores and [Kroger] won't match [their] own store?
