Waldbaums

Gloria of Mattituck NY (01/03/09)
My complaint is our store is antique. No matter what you do it always looks dirty. We were supposed to have a makeover in 2008 but they changed their mind. Our store makes a lot of money(so i have been told) why do we have to be ashamed of our store,it seems no one cares that we look like a derelect store. If you need more information please contact me,i've lived in this town since 1962 also my son worked there in the good old days.

i purchased two bags of polly-o mozzerella cheese on christmas eve along with other products to make a lasagna for christmas dinner. on christmas day i put the first bag of cheese in and continued the layering. When i pored the second bag on top i noticed it was moldy and stinky. I figured i would just scrape it off the top, then i decided to check the expiration date on both bags and found that both bags of cheese had expired in july, hours of work and good food ruined! I was really upset with no main dish for christmas dinner.

My husband went to the store with the bags and reciept to get our money back for the food that was ruined. he was treated rudely by by the managers and one staff member when he told them what happened. They implied he was lying and we saved the bags since july. The man behind the customer service counter even had the nerve, when my husband told them his wife was upset and crying over the ruined dinner, to say does your wife get upset that you dont wear your wedding ring?

I am apalled by how my husband was treated, nevermind the extremely expired food, I will never shop at any waldbaums ever again. After a long fight he did get most of the money back!

I usually shop for me and my family at this walbaums , this morning I went shipping I noticed a Rib roast on sale for 4.97 per lbs. Without hesitation I brought the Roast to the butcher window. I asked the butcher to cut into steaks. He told me he doesnt do that???? The girl next to him supported him? Hes a butcher why is he there? I was in shock, I have never been told that before. I go the Path mark too, they always ask me if they can cut to my needs.

I went to the store Manager John, he gave me some BS he said they dont mix pork and beef on the same saw, than he said let me check it out while walking there another Rude person, a large dark man with a butcher jacket on, another butcher who dont practice their profession told the Manager we dont do that? he than said to me I should shop at another store.

I waited 5 more minutes for the manager to return, he never did, I went Customer service and the girl told me he was up stairs. The manager left me there! Not even a word. The fish is rotten from the head down, the manager was rude, the employees are rude, and they are all lazy! There was a time the store was empty, with economics down turn upon us do you think you have problem with store.!!  P S I went to Pathmark and purchased a roast they where happy to cut to do their job as butchers and cut to the customer needs!

I read many customer complaints on here and I am disgusted. Disgusted at the fact that so many people are extremely inconsiderate. I work at Waldbaums on Long Island and many customers purposely do everything in their power to piss you off. Is it really that hard to find what you need? It disgusts me that the generation before me were raised horribly. Good job America.

Grocery department workers. Customers act like they never do anything wrong. Well, guess what? If you don't like shopping there then DONT. It won't affect my check come the end of the week. Jeeeezzzzzz
