I am a second generation, 70-year-old Costco shopper. Until recently I have always been satisfied with Costco and have bought all my tires from the local Costco store. However, last week, one tire with very good remaining tread (I drive much less the last couple years) suffered a flat. My intentions are currently to donate that car. However, I did not want to donate a car with a flat tire. Hence, I went into Costco merely to seek a tire repair. The salesman attempted to tell me that the tire could not be repaired and tried to convince me to buy two new tires for about $450.00. I then went to a tire shop for $30.00, repaired the tire—thereby saving me about $420.00. I will now donate the car in the near future. I am very disappointed in the attempt to oversell me two tires. In the future I will veer away from purchase of tires from Costco.

Took my car in because tires needed replacing. I had 32k on the tires and the warranty was for 70k. They said the warranty was void because of alignment issues of my car. They happily sold me a new set of tires and said I shouldn’t have an alignment done until the new tires are installed. I took my car to the alignment shop and they said the alignment was fine.

Costco charges double what other places do for tires. Then a month later, still can't tell us where our tires are. They can only refund in cash or cut you a check if you paid with a debit card that isn't visa. They do nothing to try to keep you as a customer, even though you're spending $140 a year to shop (each trip costs about $500 if you're feeding a family of 4 +). Costco doesn't care about their customers, the only thing they care about is your wallet.

Costco tire shop staff damaged my vehicle. The company refused to take responsibility. Don't use them. They are careless and put you at risk. They lift pad and cylinder was left on the frame of my car and broke loose while I was driving.

Good prices. That's about it. They rescheduled my installation because they ordered the wrong tires. 2 weeks later tires are installed but they stole my valve stem caps my daughter got me for Christmas and double charged for the TPMS installation kit (paid once at time of tire purchase and again at installation). I got 2 caps back but not the extra payment. Less than a month later one of the valve stems is leaking, mechanic said it looked original to the car (old degraded o-rings) so brought it back and they said it needed another new TPMS kit and tried to make me pay for it again. They then agreed to replace for no charge.

About 6 months in had to have a tire replaced for road hazard. 15% price of new tire, so that was fair. Tires got worse over time, stretched or broken belts. Costco said no issues and turned us away. It got worse and worse and they said they could not see any issues. Dealership and independent auto techs both confirmed bad tires. Road force setting on balancer read off the chart on one of the tires. Costco still says no issues and refused claim. Shaking was so bad it prematurely wore out a ball joint. Costco still says no issues.

Don’t buy tires at Costco. Their service and warranty is terrible, bought tires from Costco that vibrated at 60-75 miles per hour and they would not replace them with another tire, said sorry about my luck. I would have to pay for new tires, tires had only 1500 miles on them.

This is about the tire center at I-10 and Grand Parkway 99 in Katy, Texas. I changed two rear tires there about 2 months ago. I was requested to buy new nuts. Since the center did not provide these nuts, I had to go to two part shops and only got 10 nuts. Generally the two new tires are supposed to be placed in the front wheels. I could not do it because I did not have 20 nuts. For this reason, the two new tires were installed on the rear wheels. I was told to come back when I got other nuts. I made an appointment last Sunday, wishing to get a quick service with the appointment.

To my surprise, I was told that I needed to wait for at least 1.5 hours. Since I had other appointment, I could not wait for that long. I was told I would be able to get a quick service weekdays. Then I made another appointment on Tuesday at 10 am, wishing I could get a quick service this time. I drove a long way to the center in rain. Unfortunately, the girl there was totally unready. By the time she finished helping the first customer, it was almost 10:30am. When it was my turn, the 1st customer that needed a tire service, she told me I needed to wait for another 1.5 hours. I was shocked and asked her why. She was very rude and told me all service needed to wait for that long. I had to cancel it again. I would never return to that center for tire service. Very very bad experience!!!

I had a appointment to get my tires and was there for 3 hours. I have health issues and began to tire and told them someone was coming to get me and they were going to have to bring my car .. then they finished.. When I got it back there was a red scratch on the bumper.. I called and sent pictures.. No response. I told my family members... They found my tires cheaper at Champs and they say they have never waited more than 30 minutes.

I made an appointment for tire rotation which comes with the $1000 worth of tires I had purchased from them. I arrive a few minutes early for my appt to be told that the wait can be up to an hour and 1/2. But wait I have an appt. Well apparently they schedule 3 appt for every time a slot. So what is the point of making an appt. if they grossly overbook themselves

The tech just came to take my car into the bay after waiting 45 minutes and told me it would be another hour and a half. WHAT???!!!! 90 minutes to rotate 4 tires?? So with an appt you can expect a tire rotation to take almost 3 hours. I have used Costco Tires for years but this will be my last set of tires from them.

The service is horrendous. Now after waiting an hour they decide it is too early and they are refusing to rotate my tires. PLEASE EVERYONE GO ELSEWHERE!!!!

I had my mechanic install a TPMS sensor on my 2009 Corvette, but the mechanic didn’t have a tool to reset the sensors and told me driving the car would likely reset by itself. I drove around and it didn’t reset, so I stopped by my Costco in St Augustine Fl on international golf parkway and talked to Martin in the tire shop, told him my story and asked if he could reprogram my sensors, he said he probably couldn’t reprogram the sensor because I didn’t know the brand, but would try for me! After about 3 minutes he programmed my 4 tires, all tires showed the air pressure and the service TPMS was gone!

He wouldn’t charge me and I tried to give him a tip, but he wouldn’t accept, said if you ever need tires stop by and if I wanted to, leave a review. Needless to say, I give Martin 5 stars and will buy all my tires in the future from Costco because with employees like Martin, you can’t go wrong! And to the manager of this Costco, I hope you recognize Martin for his great customer service! Tom **. St Augustine Florida

I bought 4 tires for my 2014 Porsche Cayenne from Costco and also changed the TPMS sensors so was a good amount of money. The tires were cheaper than I could get elsewhere. I started to notice at higher speeds I would get vibration in the steering wheel such that it was tiring and annoying. I had my Cayenne aligned and changed the front struts replaced. The vibration at high speed was the same. I brought back to Costco and asked them to balance the tires. I explained about the vibration. They would not rebalance as I had not put 7k miles on the tires. I had about 6k.

I brought the car to Discount Tire and paid $65 to balance and rotate. Interestingly they told me that the balance was good on three of the tires but they had to move the tire weights on the 4th tire which happened to be the front driver side. After the balance, no more vibration. I will also warn you that the warranty is a pro rate. I got a nail in one of the tires and still had to pay about half the original price to replace. I love Costco. I have an executive membership but I will not go there again for tires.

On the recommendation of my daughter, I purchased 4 Michelin tires from Costco for my Corsair. The tires arrived quicker than expected, and I made an 10:00 appointment for them to be put on the car. I arrived exactly at 10:00. There was a sign stating that they recommend a 2 hour wait for the car to be finished. The counter service gentleman reviewed the details of my car, checked me in and stated that he would call me when the job was complete. I decided to do some Costco shopping and, at 10:48, my phone rang, and I was notified my car was finished…..I was surprisingly shocked! I hadn’t even finished my usual Costco shopping. The counter gentleman, I neglected to get his name, was so accommodating and friendly. He even informed me that there was a ‘grease build up on the CV axels’ and suggested I contact my mechanic. I was so happy with the purchase of these tires from start to finish. Will definitely use them for my other vehicle.

Wow, if I ran my business this way, I’d be broke! They had to order our tires, told us 2-3 days…no call, called, they said “3-5 days” no call, called again, now they said “7-10 days.” At this point asked for manager. Was told I “should NEVER have been given a time frame, as they had to get them from out of state.” Well, they did, each time doubling how long to get the tires. I could have had them installed elsewhere a week ago. They “upgraded” our tire and scheduled an appt today. Well after the more than an hour we shopped (told an hour to hour and a half for installation), went to check status and “just took it back.” Seriously, what’s the point of an appt if you don’t even come close to the time frame?! Worst experience ever. Do NOT recommend!

Curtis at Napa Costco Tires explained that because I didn't have the tires rotated at 6k miles with Costco the warranty was void. I did have my tires rotated with an auto shop but I was told that would just qualify me for a "discount" on a new purchase.
