Playhut Tents

Fay of Hastings, NY October 3, 2009

After letting this item “kick around” in my basement for over a year, I decided to write. I can’t believe these things haven’t been recalled or something. Since I bought it well in advance of when I would need it, I was unable to return it to the store (Kmart). This item is the most flimsy, awkward product I have ever purchased for my granddaughter. But, more importantly, it is DANGEROUS! When my husband was struggling to put it together the last time, one of the pole coverings actually broke and his hand was cut. After that, we were afraid to let our granddaughter play in it since we were afraid one of those poles would just cut loose.

I think it’s pretty lousy that you make such a low-quality product and then expect someone to pay 15 postage to return a defective 20 item! I should have read the reviews online before purchasing this dangerous piece of Chinese garbage. I can’t believe that Disney allows their name to be associated with this product.

William of Reno, NV September 30, 2009

In april of this year my son was playing in a playhut called 'The Car's' which is made of fabric and has a metal frame. I was in the kitchen and my son 3 years old came running in screaming after playing in the hut for a few minutes. I saw his face had a huge scratch from the top in a U shape down and around..on the other side of the face a small cut (that is now a scare) anyway I went to the hut and noticed 2 shinny objects..seems the fabric came off an area that keeps the metal frame together (its a flex material so you can fold up the hut for storage) anyway because the fabric came off the metal was exposed and it looked like 2 sharpe knifes were sitting up..my son was lucky in that he could have lost a eye, ear or worse yet landed on his chest and died. the play hut is designed to jump and roll around in with balls in it...playhut is taking zero responsibility for this design flaw and doesnt seem to care if it happens again...one sick company that makes toys for young children.
