Lynne of Altoona PA (12/27/08)
On 12/20/08 I purchased a furreal pet toy for my daughter. The sign stated that it was 6.99 today only. Being so close to Christmas, the store was very busy, and the cashier was frazzled as he had to re-ring my order, due to my using the remainder of a gift card as well as a personal check (I do not use credit/debit cards). After Christmas I called the store to report that I had been overcharged 3 times the amount of the sale price. The worker put me on hold, coming back to say she could not find it. I explained again that it was a 1 day sale, asking her to look again. She came back, stating that she had found it, not realizing that it was a 1 day only deal, and that I should come in for a refund.

Upon entering the store the cashier was very condescending to me, stating that the item was 16.79, and that was the price she could give me. I asked her to recheck the 6.99 price, which she did, finding that I was right. She stated that since I had not come in within 48 hours of the purchase, that store policy prevented her from refunding the overcharge. She was however going to do me a favor and break policy to give me the amount on a gift card, as I had written a check. When I asked for my money back, she told me store policy requires a 7 day wait for cash back. When I asked how to return an item within 48 hours for the overcharged amount, while writing a check, she repeated store policy. After calling 1800toysrus, they confirmed that this is in fact their policy. I understand the 7 day check writing policy, but how can they overcharge customers, then refuse to give a refund? To me, that is stealing.

I do not wish to shop at toysrus anymore, but am stuck with a gift card, forcing me to shop there, or lose my money.

On went to Toys R Us at 4am because I had my eye on the Loving Family Dollhouse that was advertised online for 54.99, originally 149. I get there at 4am & there is no sign saying it's on sale, I spoke w/ the manager & he knew nothing of it. I called the 800 number , they knew nothing of it. They said that the online advertisement has nothing to do w/ Toys R Us & there is nothing that they can do.

This is bullcrap!! Toys R US is a multi million dollar company, you think they would hire someone to keep an eye on their false advertising. Im sure TRU is probably up to this scam to, to get people in their stores. I am writing my complaint on as many forums as I can. I am a school teacher, so I will tell everyone I know about this. Hopefully they will stay out of TRU from now on. I am really disappointed & Livid to say the least!!

We waited till Black Friday hoping it would be on sale. Guess what, didn't go on sale, the jacked the price to 149.99.

I received an ad from Toys R Us advertising a Guitar Hero Complete Band Game for 99.99. They showed the picture of the product in the ad. I got up and went to the store at 7 am when they opened because this was a good price and I didn't think they would last long. When I got in there I was told that was not the item on sale. It was the Guitar Hero Super Bundle. Again that was not the item pictured. They told me the serial number in the ad was correct but the picture was wrong. They were sorry for the inconvience but they could not help me, except to give me the number to the toyrus guest services line.

So I called, the lady agreed me but said she would have to have the problem resolution committee call me back. What a joke! Some guy called me back and told me the same thing I heard at the store. I asked for his manager and was told he was not in today. This guy received my complaint and called me back. There was no committee and no resolution. I did find out however the store manager has the authority to handle the situation, so I went back tot he store.

The manager was the rudest indivdual I've ever talked to, and he told me the same thing, but this time he said it was a printer error and they now have a retraction printed at the register. They did not have that in the morning when I was there. One of the employees told me she told her manager this was going to be a problem when she first saw the ad and they did nothing about it until after i came in! I'm so angry! I want some answers! Can a Company advertise the wrong item and then renig on the price? Isn't this false advertising?

Advertised price was 99.99. Original price 189. I got screwed out of 89.01. More over the dollars it's the principal of it all and the aggravation it caused me and the work I missed.

I wanted a Bratz doll for my daughter, however when I went to purchase the doll I noticed that all the stores in my areas didn't have the African American doll. I then turned to the internet to order, however when I did a search, I realized that the WHITE doll is less than the BLACK doll. I don't think this is really fair. The dolls both come with the same accessories and what not.
