To say that Carnival gets more than its share of complaints would be quite an understatement. We get more complaints about Carnival than about all other crise lines combined. We'd recommend reading this section carefully before you put down big bucks -- not after.

Took the Carnival Destiny Cruise Ship from 2/19/06 - 2/26/06 on a Southern Carribean cruise. Per direct information from the nurse at the infirmary there were over 10% of the passengers ill on this cruise. They referred to it as the Norovirus. There were supposedly 3,500 passengers on ship and the 10% were what was reported - what about those who did not seek infirmary services?

My husband and I travelled with our three kids, ages 10, 8 & 7. Two of the children were sick for 48 hrs. and more. We traveled with a group of 20 and 7/20 were sick. There was no restitution made and we were told to keep the sick in their cabins. I have since read the Carnival virus reports online (USA Today, etc.) and am shocked that this cruise-line has not been suspended from operation until further notice. There are enough illness and viruses coming our way in the future to be worried about without having a traveling fleet full of more infected people.

Part of my family and friends lost very valuable time from their vacation due to illness and one member of our group was rushed to the hospital 3 days after our return with severe vomiting and diarrhea. Over 1/2 our well paid for vacation was monopolized by illness.
