Christine of Oceanside CA (12/08/08) They charged my account for services that were not rendered and a month later I am still trying to solve the issue. They claim they cant do anything about it because the transaction is no longer in the system yet it shows that they charged my account and didn't render any services.
I was out of 130.00 for nothing because I had been considering to make a purchase.
Zelda Benezra of Istanbul, OTHER November 14, 2008
Zelda of Istanbul OTHER (11/14/08) I purchased a ticket to New York and cancelled the ticket right after purchasing. I asked for a refund and they told me it will take 2 to 3 billing cycles. This prevents me from buying a new ticket this month. I called customer service many times and they told me there is nothing they can do. I feel like I am trapped and nobody is in expedia plans to help. Because of this policy, It prevents me. It makes me angry and anxious. I read many complaints about the same problem.
Luis Murguia of Miami, FL November 10, 2008
Luis of Miami FL (11/10/08) On may 2008 i booked a flight with Expedia. The itinerary is Miami - Mexico City for July 18th, 2008 and Mexico City - Miami for July 20th, 2008. Because of strategy i decided not to use the ticket for July 18th, 2008. On July 20th, 2008 i went to the airport to take my flight back to Miami and that's when American Airlines employees told me that my flight was cancelled and if i wanted to fly back, they could help me by selling me another ticket. Since i was traveling with my family and they were in the same flight, i had no other choice but buying another ticket directly from American Airlines. Talking about the tickets i booked with Expedia, they were non-refundable in case of cancel/no-show/refund.
In my opinion and understanding of the meanings of the words Change and Cancel i did not do any of those, therefore i'm still trying to understand with AA and with Expedia what is the rule that i 'broke' ? I have a case # and a reference # with Expedia and i have a file # with AA, but still not satisfied with their verbal explanations, due to its lack of written support to sustain the argument they gave me at the airport on July 20th 2008...
I had to pay more than 600 usd for another air ticket and have been wasting my time with them on their 'customer service instruments' without a clear feedback and resolution. If i didn't cancel anything, if i didn't change anything on my flight back to Miami, FL, why is that i loose it, why is that AA simply eliminate it on their system (they have contact information and they didn't contacted me for further clarification (why i didn't take my Miami - Mex flight) either ?
They are not clear enought about who is responsible for solving this ? (Expedia or AA) ? Expedia is offering me 100 aprox. for using with them in a future trip, and to me that not a real solution to my problem... Do they have to do something for me ? According to AA rep. they don't now anything about expedia web site? They don't know if the ticket rules and restrictions are AA or Expedia's ? If i click on AA search engine, and i look for information on their no-show policy, i don't get anything clear... I'm not a pilot, not a flight attendant, ticket counter rep., travel agency employee, therefore i don't know about common sense policies or else, i think this information has to be cristal clear for all customers, otherwise, they play the game with us, when us don't know how to play...
Elizabet Rodriguez of Brooklyn, NY November 10, 2008
Elizabet of Brooklyn NY (11/10/08) On April 16, 2008 I made three reservations with expedia. The same day, twenty minutes after I called back expedia to cancel the three tickets because my somn had bought the tickets already. Expedia told me that they will cancel the tickets and i will only be chrged 12 for the reservation cancellation which I agreed to it. When my checked my checking account the same date, April 16 they took 280.01 three times out. When I e-mail them and explained to them what happen they said that it will take 7-10 bussiness days to receive my refund.
After the 15 days I e-mail them again and they responded that it could take one billing cycle from the bank. They took the money out and up to know that is November 9, 2008 I have never receive the refund or give me the option to use my three tickets. I had contact Expedia more than ten times and North West. It seems that they are blaming each other.
At this point I thinkl it not only frustrating but they have not been fair. Expedia asked twice to fax them the bank statement . I fax it twice . I asked them to e-mail or call me so that I know that they received the fax and they have not even do that. Yesterday they e-mail me saying that in 4 hours they will e-mail me back with some information on the investigation. It's already twenty four hours and they have not respond. I will appreciate if you could help me with this situation. I need to travel to see my son that is serving in the Air Force in Idaho and I have not been able to do it because I do not have the money. I will appreciate if you could help me with this mattwr.
This has really affected me emotionally because I have not been able to travel to see my first grandson. My son is in the Air Force and my granson's first birthday is next week. I am not only frustrated , depressed but upset at the whole situation . I was also affected economical because they took my money and this was money that I had to pay my bills. As time goes by I feel more and more upset. I suffer from high blood pressure and every time I spend one to two hour in the phone with Expedia and North West I just feel that my head is going to blow up and my blood pressure goes extremely high. It has even affected my marriage because my husband argues constantly with me like if I could resolve anything.
Adam Drzal of Arlington, VA October 30, 2008
Adam of Arlington VA (10/30/08) I purchased an airline ticket online through Expedia. The airlines made several changes to the flights so I requested to have a refund. Expedia contacted United Airlines and told me that I would receive a refund. I originally contacted Expedia about the refund on August 4, 2008. At that time I was told it would take a Billing cycle or two to receive the refund that would be posted to my account. It is now October 30th, nearly 3 months since I requested the refund and I still do not have the refund. Each time I contact Expedia I am told it will be another billing cycle to receive the refund. Nobody can explain why it is taking so long to process the refund.
I would like to use the money to buy another airline ticket.
