    Shut off gas to our 31 unit apartment building because of a supposed leak. The issue was resolved immediately and we have been trying to contact their support team to get a technician back out to turn the gas back on. It has now been 4 days and tenants have no hot water, cannot use stoves to cook or make food, and cannot use laundry facilities. This monopoly is holding us hostage and there is unfortunately nothing we can do about it. The state protects them and allows this criminal operation to keep scamming citizens.

    Customer service is atrocious. They use AI that will spin you in circles if the question is slightly different than the parameters within AI's algorithm. The service managers and designers of the system should be fired!

      Y'all keep sending me emails saying I'm using more but in reality I'm using less.. It's all you raising your prices and scamming us.. My heat in the winter time 1yr ago was set at 70 days 76 nights.. This past yr it was set at 66 days 68 nights.. I froze! We shower the same.. 2 loads of laundry a week hasn't changed in yrs.. We hardly ever use stove or oven due to having an air fryer.. And the last 2 yrs haven't used oven for Thanksgiving due to it just being me and my son.. Before that was pies, turkey, everything was used for at least 2 days during Thanksgiving and bill was cheaper.. Nothing in 2 yrs and bill is higher and I'm using more.. Washing dishes has decreased due to air fryer... Please tell me more lies about how I'm using more gas! Really! Y'all ought to be ashamed of yourselves taking advantage of people!

      I just found out that The Southern California Gas Company is planning on offshoring Customer service jobs to an undisclosed foreign country. In the meantime, they're continuing to layoff workers in California. So now, in an effort to increase their own profits, my private information, including my Social Security Number, will to accessible in foreign country. This seems like an unfair business practice. The gas company shouldn't be allowed to have such critical personal information on record if they intend to share it with 3rd party foreign countries. They profit so we can be exposed to any number of scams, or identity theft.

      So Cal Gas -Organized Criminals who take advantage of their customers. I have a feeling they will be on the News soon with all these scams coming to light. It’s something else to watch how people take advantage and then act like law abiding organizations. It’s a shame.

      Company alone deserves a one star based on their website that is borderline inoperable. Took a few hours to set up a simple payment that should have taken 2 minutes and also never should have changed. These flaws in website design, systems and random changes in account numbers will definitely rob hundreds of people of their time and money due to late fees they will have to accrue due to these issues. Not to mention the headache as well.

      A hopelessly understaffed company that cannot offer acceptable service times. There is no accountability, communication, nor consequences for them as it is a monopoly. They require a 13 hour window for you to stay home to be present, and even after confirming my appointment 3 times over the phone to ensure my 13 hour wait was worthwhile, the technician still did not show up. Their technicians are too understaffed to meet minimum standards. Also, their technicians have no way of communicating with each other to inform or help one another to complete services. These wait times and the lack of communication is unacceptable. Service is below the minimum standard. If you have an issue like me, I suggest you leave a complaint with the CA Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).

      Melissa has zero knowledge of customer service. She was so rude and I was trying to talk to a supervisor and she put me on hold for some time and then said the supervisors told her what to tell me and trying to hang up on me, saying that the supervisor refused to talk to me. I just remind them that we are the customers and they think that they make you a favor. Really awful experience.

      South California Gas is not a utility company, but a criminal organization shielded by Californian regulators as a monopoly. Charging exorbitant tariffs for dirty fuel is unacceptable. Lawmakers and citizens must take clear action. The best solution is to decriminalize this organization and de-merge it into multiple smaller municipal service companies that are directly accountable to the people they serve.

      Socalgas is what happens when you allow companies to become monopolies. Their technicians did not wait even for 60 seconds at my address. I've been without gas and hot water for 12 days. I took the day off to stay home from work and I had been home all day when they came to my door only to leave almost immediately with a flyer for "missed appointment" when I was on my way down to let them in. It couldn't have been more than 30 seconds, maybe 60 seconds at a stretch. And when I called customer service to reschedule, the earliest appointment is seven days away, and were generally unhelpful and rude. The supervisor literally told me "don't sit upstairs then" when I told her I was nervous about this happening again. There shouldn't be monopolies!

      We moved in to a new house and requested the gas, they told us they don’t have appointment until three days later. So we wait but no one shows up, we call them and they said the technician was there but no one was home. We were up since 6am waiting for technician but no one showed up to our house, on top of that we have to wait another 4 days for another technician to show up! They are very unprofessional, unorganized, and have been nothing but uncooperative!

      They are killing California residents and businesses with astronomical prices. My bills have been steadily going up over the last few months and I am wondering why? We are not out of gas; not even close. It is character of companies in California to just absolutely hammer its customers with no shame. Shame on you Gas Company.

      I would leave a 0 star if possible. We recently moved in to our home, with some miscommunication we thought we set our gas bill to autopay, turns out we didn’t and were disconnected. Unfortunately we never received a notice… Called and talked to Richard, he set up our account and set up our activation date. Transferred our call to a coupon service without notice, not giving us a chance to plead our case. We decided to try the Spanish service, the call went even worse with Mrs. ** where she acted like we purposefully avoided paying and constantly interrupting to let us know we were lucky to have an activation date so soon. Unfortunately, they are our only option so here we are… waiting for an activation with two little kids. Hoping our technician is WAY more professional.

      The absolute worst company. Didn't help me with a single thing. I needed help trying to find the gas meter at my new apartment and the lady goes "I can only wait for a minute before I have to hang up, good bye". Every time I call I'm on the phone with a robot for 20 minutes.

      I called with a billing question. I just needed some clarification because my bill was less than what I knew I owed and wanted to make sure I paid the correct amount. The rep had a short fuse, gave some details regarding a credit I had received while speaking to me in a condescending tone, and then hung up on me.

      SoCalGas needs to upgrade its billing practices. Here are specific recommendations;

      1. Provide an APP for bill pay - keeping the web login as backup.

      2. When a payment is scheduled, acknowledge via email that payment has been scheduled, include date of scheduled payment and amount to be billed. State that no further action is necessary.

      Most of all AVOID sending a bill reminder as it confuses the payor! In short, display a modicum of intelligence via upgraded software in the contemporary sense, comparable to what other businesses are doing. Use SCE as an example. OK???

      I don't have anything other than the water heater that uses gas in the house and I only used about 18 gallons of hot water in the month of January washing dishes in the sink. I don't leave the water running while washing. I wash and set it in the next sink to rinse all at the same time. I was charged $400.00. To heat a gallon of water only costs about 1 to 2 cents. How does 18 to 36 cents turn into $400.00? It does when you have corruption running the gas company. And what can we do about it? I've looked for any class action regarding this rip off. NOTHING to be found!

      I signed up for the forgiveness plan just before the company did this to everyone and made one payment then things changed and they put the gas service in my name when I told them not to. But they insisted. In taking my info they wanted my soc security number. I said No! They have no business asking for your soc security number so don't give it to them. When I refused customer service said "Well it will take longer to process." I don't care. You are not getting my soc security number! There wasn't any delay in processing. That was a complete LIE. It's been since January the last time they saw $ from me and the gas is still on. I want to sue them!

      Paid additional 700 dollars for the level plan for 6 months. I should have paid the 500 December bill and move on instead of signing in to the level plan. The total payment as of to date is 2300 dollars since December. If I had stayed and not sign in to the level plan I would have save 1800 dollars. Therefore the Level plan is going to cost you more instead of saving money. It's really a deferred payment in which you will be paying for the difference later. Stay out of this Level Plan for I believed it's a total rip-off. Those extra money I paid I could go to Hawaii for a vacation and back twice and still have 900 dollars to go to the England or Ireland. Please be aware what you get into when it comes to these utility companies.
