Work at Home, Make Big $$

The scams built around this theme are as old as the hills and have just about as many variations. Most of them come down to one thing:  your money flowing into someone else's bank account. For additional examples, check the Scam Alerts and Employment sections.

Although you may hear about Internet millionaires working in their garage, the truth is that most jobs still involve showing up at the office, rendering works, landfill, you name it.

Those who have a specific skill that's in demand and that can be done from home may be able to piece togther enough clients to make it worthwhile but those who just want a steady check are best advised to check the classifieds and hit the streets, resume in hand.

It is virtually certain that you will lose any money you pay someone else who says they will furnish you with some kind of magic "kit" (or, these days, software) that lets you make big money working at home.

Lately the most popular scams revolve around sending out bills for doctors. Some companies have sold software packages for $3,000 while others are content to get $300 or even $30. They all do the same thing: nothing.
