We must have gotten on a list somewhere that we were looking for tubs, because Tranquility called us, and they are out of Idaho, but they sell Boca. We haven't heard of anything Boca as we had been looking around, besides this guy. We looked up on ConsumerAffairs and saw that they had such good ratings, and the whole package they gave us was a bit less than the other ones that we got. So, we figured it was a good product, and it was a good price. This kid named Jake must be in his late 20s or 30s, and I guess it's a family company, and they do exclusively Boca. He ran us through all of the features and how Boca was better, and the consumer reports. We got along with him well and thought they would do a good job. We went ahead and pulled the trigger on it.

They had some guys that came in. They had to rip out our old shower and bathtub. They had to have two different companies -- one making the bathtub, one making the shower. We had them all shipped to our house and kept them in our garage until the installers showed up. They worked for three days straight, getting rid of our old stuff, rerunning plumbing, putting in the shower pad and the shower panels, and putting the tub and rewiring some electrical. It was quite a process, but they did a great job. It took a good three days. They were done at the end of the third day. They worked nonstop.

Before I got this tub, I haven't taken an actual bath in 20 years. I like baths, but I couldn't get down in and out because of my back. We had been looking for this for a while and came into some money, and we thought, "Let's just do this while we're still young enough to go through the installation process, get it in." We got the seat warmer. I don't know if I will use that, or if I will just spray the seat with hot water before I sat down because I can't tell a huge difference with the seat warmer. But we got the water jets and the light therapy, which is cool. That's my favorite. Also, we got grab bars in the shower. We got all kinds of safety features. We're set for when we get immobilized.

I like that Boca is local-ish. It's been in my region, at least in the US. I like that the lip on the step-in is the lowest I have seen from anybody. That was really important. We have some severe mobility issues in the family. Even if it isn't a big deal this year, t's a really, really big deal. More places are switching to the door that opens inward instead of outward. But it looks like they've been doing that a lot longer. Engineering-wise, that makes sense. Their framework seems a lot sturdier than what I was seeing from a lot of other companies.

The sales rep that we dealt with was super informative. She answered every question. There was one thing she had to go double check on for me. Then she got back to me really quickly. She sent me everything I needed in email, so I could look over it ahead of time. She also called me and made sure I got it. The follow up was just top-notch. When it came time to getting things scheduled, it was really easy. We had just moved into our house, so everything was in chaos. They made it so easy in the midst of moving and all the other things that were happening. That was one thing I did not have to stress over.

The installation was fast. Stannah sent somebody ahead of time to look at everything and make all the measurements. So, when they came, they were ready, and they were in and out. It was most of the day, but I expected so much longer. They cleaned up after themselves extremely well. They took into account the breathing issues that we have in our family and ventilated that room as well as they possibly could, considering there's no opening window in that room. They were super considerate of all the medical issues that we have. We're immune-compromised. We have breathing problems and they did everything they could to make sure they didn't trigger anyone to have an episode of any kind.

I called Boca Walk-in Tubs and asked them specific questions. They sent me all the information I requested, I called them back, and they were very helpful with answering my additional questions. They were very easy to work with, and I could get ahold of the company if I needed to. I usually do everything myself, and I'm getting too old to get on my knees and do all that kind of work. I sat there and watched out of interest, and the installer was very thorough about it. He was meticulous about getting the plumbing right. It took a while to do that. He didn't throw it together and was out of here. He had a long day here. I told him, “You can come back if you need to.” He said, “No, I'll get it done.” He stayed until it was complete. It worked out well. I was impressed. I used the tub a few times, and I liked it.

I had a huge Jacuzzi tub, and it wasn't practical. The sides to step over, it was so wide. We never used that tub. My girlfriend figures when she gets a little older and have more troubles, we'll use it more. But for right now, I bought it as preventative, for looking for in the future getting old. I got a check from my company I retired from. It was $11,358, and the tub came to 11,300 to get it all installed and buy it. That covered that. The price that the rep gave me was good.

Jake came out and he was very patient in answering my questions, and I thought he was very thorough. The installation was very well done. The installers were very efficient in their installation. I was very impressed. They cleaned up after themselves. I didn't have to go behind them and fix anything. I'm really happy with it. Our tub suited my needs because I like to soak, and I'm not strong enough anymore to get out of a regular bathtub by myself. I just feel like it was too expensive. There are things that I really don't use that much like the jets. If I could put on a bathing suit and try it somewhere, it would be nice. Other than that, I really do enjoy it. It makes the bathroom look much better. I'm very pleased. If I were going to design it, I would do it differently. I have long legs, so I would like more room to stretch out. I like that I can just soak. I like showers okay, but soaking is very relaxing. I've had some falls, and it's very comforting for me to sit in a warm bath.

I would recommend the Boca walk-in tub. I had a friend call me, and she had talked with a neighbor that had a walk-in tub. They said they never use it. I use it at least twice a week. It takes a long time to fill up, but that's okay. People talk about it draining. It drains really fast. I don't have any problems with that. Overall, I’m glad I've got it. I like a bath more than a shower.

I love my Boca walk-in tub. I called the company and talked with a young lady named Anna. She was the nicest, she was so helpful, and she impressed me, so that was why I went with them. The installers did an excellent job. I had a cast iron tub. My house was built in the 50s. So, they had a time tearing my tub out, but they did an excellent job.

I'm 80 years old and I could still get in my tub, but I have spinal stenosis and scoliosis, and it was getting hard for me to get out of the tub. So, my husband and my grandson kept telling me, "You need to get it while you can still." They were afraid I was going to get in there one day and couldn't get out, and then here I'd be. I'm loving my new tub. Feature-wise, I get in the tub and I've enjoyed the shower. I've never took showers because I didn't like standing up, and I couldn't get to my feet to wash them. But with this, when I take a shower, I turn the water on, and I stop it up, and it soaks my feet, and then I can sit down and wash my feet and my legs. I've really enjoyed the shower part of it. I've got where I do more showers than filling it all the way up, but it fills up fast and it drains fast.

I was satisfied with the price they gave me. I only had one bad sting, and that was my fault. I forgot to lock the door one time. Water started going out in my bathroom floor. I saw it when it started out in there, so it didn't make too big of a mess. Now, every time I start to take a bath at night, I'll tell my husband, "I'm going to get my bath," he'll say, "Lock the door. Lock the door."

My wife loves the Boca walk-in tub. She loves to sit there in the jets, go around and make the water swirl. However, I'm not thrilled with it. I prefer a shower and it's not very conducive to a shower. If you want to sit in the tub, it's great, but I don't. And we were led to believe you could adapt it to a shower. You can get the shower attachment to it and turn it to where it will pour water on you, but it doesn't work nearly as good as a regular shower does. If you're interested in a shower, Boca is not where to go. But if you're interested in a tub that does all kinds of things, the Boca would work good.

A friend told me about Boca walk-in tubs and when I got their sales rep to come out, the presentation was satisfactory. But the first attempt to install it didn't work because the installers were not prepared to do it well. So, I asked it to be rescheduled and I wound up with a different team. The second attempt went reasonably well. But I'm not entirely satisfied with the tub's features. The top surface of the tub catches the water from the shower, and it runs off the tub onto the floor. In my judgment, that's a design defect.

Once the rep got the money, that was the end of that. We never heard from him. Any problem I had, nothing. I was unhappy with the Boca tub. But the tub is the tub. I hardly ever use it because I’m just sitting up in a bowl. But he assured me that there’s plenty of room. Had I been able to look at the tub before I bought it, I wouldn't have bought the tub at all. It’s very expensive. I almost never use it now.

There were a couple of problems with the tub. He misrepresented what the tub was. He showed me a picture where there was a nice big ledge around to put soap and whatever. There was no ledge. When I called him, he said, "Well, that's because of the measurements in your bathroom and it would have come out too far. And you wouldn't have liked that. So, that's why there was no ledge. But that's just how it is.” That ticked me off. The pads that suction to the back didn't work. He said he sent me new ones. It took five calls to get him to even call me back. He reassured me, which was a lie, that you could lean back, and it's not as good as a regular tub, but you would have the comforts almost of a tub. You can't lean back. There's no place to lean. So, I'm just sitting upright in a tub.

I wish every contractor would clean up that good. The jets are wonderful, but the fact that it got the heater to keep the water hot is my favorite part because it doesn't get cold. I bought a waterproof Bluetooth speaker so I could sit and just chill. I already referred my brother to Boca.

We tried another company and we were not happy with the answers. Then, we saw Boca and the guys came down from Idaho and told us all about it. The salesperson told us the superiority of the tub, and I read some reviews, and it seemed like it was a good, solid thing. We talked to the owner of the company and it was okay. We were trying to pin down the delivery date because we paid up front, and the date was quite far out. So, we contacted the people concerned to figure out when it was gonna be delivered and when it was gonna be installed.

The installation crew was good. They were supposed to come on Monday, but they called and said that they were through with what they were doing. They asked if they could come on Sunday. They worked for four hours on Sunday and were gone by 1 o'clock on Monday. They were clean and rolled out stuff to protect the carpet. They did a good job. They did a nice job of the install, too, and then walked us through how it operated and how it works. I've been using the tub more than my wife. I haven't been using the shower wand part much, and I use the water jets more than the air jets. The air jets are bubbly even on the low setting. But it's been working fine. I enjoy using the tub.

Walk-in tubs are all way overpriced and Boca was less expensive than the other brands, so we went with them. We spent $18,500 for a tub and I think that they're not worth that much money, but we paid it anyway because my wife wanted one. I was able to speak with their rep easily. I've spoken with two other walk-in tub manufacturers before that, so I knew a little bit about what this was going about, and we had a nice conversation. They had a good installer, too.

But I did not like that they put the tub too close to the back wall when I would have liked a little bit more room to swing back my head again. Also, the thing I hate most about it is that it's not big enough that I can actually get to where my whole body is underwater, except for my head. So, you can sit down, but you can't really sit far enough to get your whole body submerged. Other than that, I like the water pump, bubbles, and the water jets. So far, nothing has gone wrong with our tub yet. But I'm hoping that when it does go wrong, I'll have good customer service and they'll be able to fix it.

Boca's representative came out and showed us all the options, and we felt it was a fair deal. The tub has a low step-in, and it has the various options for the water jets and air jets. The installation went fine, but there were some complications that apparently were indirectly caused by the installation. We had some electrical problems that were completely unrelated to the tub installation itself, as far as we know, but it was taken care of. The installers came back, and they found out what the problem was and took care of it.

We do have a concern that there's no real way to keep the water from splashing out of the tub area. With a walk-in tub, you have a glass door. With the tub shower that we have, there's no glass door, so it's all open from the top of the tub to the ceiling. So, when you're using the shower, the water goes all over the place.
