What a scam! First, being put on autopay and not being able to cancel. Second -- and this is the biggest problem -- they don't maintain their dentist database AT ALL, listing many providers and locations that no longer take their plan. I called to complain about this, and of course got the accountability-avoiding line, "that's up to the dentists to update us." NO -- It's up to THE COMPANY THAT OFFERS THIS PLAN AND TAKES MY MONEY FOR THIS PLAN. They literally take your money for a product you THINK you're getting, only to find out after the fact -- and having to spend hours/days calling dentists, facilities, etc., yourself -- that almost NONE of the dentists they list in their coverage actually take their coverage.

It's a textbook bait-and-switch tactic. They take your money and then say it's not their fault that the product isn't what they advertised. TOTAL RIPOFF. Keep in mind that nowadays, lots of dentists offer their own in-house savings plans that compare to these fraudulent plans, but unlike the plans on DentalPlans.com, they're actually accurate and you'll actually be able to use them.

Even though this happened in 2022, I'm still going to review this company. I called them to refund a charge and requested closing the account since the user, my mom, had passed. I tried to recover around $178.00 (I don’t remember exactly) membership fee because my mom passed the month before it renewed. I went through two agents that had me send member info, bank info etc to several emails. I had also placed a call to the Cancellation Dept. to explain the issue. I spoke to Miguel **, the agent who said he was going to take care of the refund after I submitted all the information he asked for. I waited for a call back. No call back.

I was going by this policy: “We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee, less the $20 processing fee, on all dental savings plans purchased from DentalPlans.com.”

I had the 30 day window when I called. I tried to connect with this company and tried to get the refund once more but passed the 30 day window trying to resolve this. Neither the agent nor the Cancellation Dept. were competent enough to follow through or to note my account with the issue to each other. So I lost over a hundred that I had requested within the cancellation time because of inefficient employee handling. DentalPlans.com left a bad taste in my mouth. Their reputation for difficult cancellations, convoluted sales pitches or just plain ignoring of the client is not off the mark. I should have filed with the BBB. In any case, I am posting this to add to the reviews indicating mishandling of account closures and non-refunds during the 30 day window of resolution.

They sign you immediately into a plan and don’t give enough time to review your choice and you can’t go back and change. You can’t change your moline before charging you the fees. I tried to call and wasn’t able to speak with anyone. Took my number and promised to call back in one hour. Never received a call back from them. They charged couple as a family when there were no children. It’s very expensive and frustrating. Bad customer service.

Dentalplans.com is impossible to cancel. Never put it on auto pay like they request because they will charge you and not refund anything without a big problem. They don't pay on time. They never call when renewal comes up like they say. It is a waste of your money, most dentist offices have cheaper cost if you just tell them you will pay with a credit card. I had the plan for 6 years and called to cancel twice and they did not actually cancel it, then charged me and wouldn't refund the whole amount they charged the card.

Using this company discount in lieu of paying for exorbitant prices for insurance has its benefits and draw backs. The first time in a few years this is the first time I've had issues with them. The fee schedule they post from access after logging into my account is not the same as the dentist office. There was one code on my treatment plan that the dentist had a cost for $150 but the web site showed $81.50. I disputed this with the dentist who insisted they were right because they had a fee schedule from Aetna. When I showed the web site cost I told them they needed to call Dental Plans to get this resolved. They then realized they did not have an updated fee schedule OR the web site was wrong.

In any case, it's a disservice to me the customer/patient when I had to wait for an hour to get this resolved. It was not resolved and the code on the treatment plan was not charged because they ended up not performing this code. I lucked out but I should not have had to go through this drama. I doubt there will be resolution as the dentist office was on the phone with Dental Plans who escalated it and then was told it would take 24-48 hours to get others involved. I suggested they call Aetna directly since it was obvious Dental Plans could not (would not?) provide the dentist with an updated list. And of course the dentist would not budge because they don't look at the web site as official.

I had a standard UTI and the Tele-Health provider said they are not allowed to treat women over the age of 60 who have a UTI. Ridiculous. Waste of money and discount on dental work is not very much. Will not renew.

I have had a terrible time with Dentalplans.com. Customer Service is terrible. I did not find a dentist in my area that would accept this plan. I tried for 4 days. They have a 30-day money-back guarantee. I canceled 10 days ago, and I keep getting the run around, no refund yet!

Bought a Dental Savings Plan from these guys. Tried to cancel the next day after I realized that our dentists would not accept the program. Ended up sending over 20 emails to various addresses on their site for a refund - never got a single reply. Ended going thru Bank of America and they were able to get me a refund ($400 for two years). No customer service support at all. Beware of these guys.

I was able to find a regular dentist that accepted the plan HOWEVER my problem began when I needed an Endodontist. I called 10 providers listed on their provider list in my 20 mile radius. NO LUCK. Rep from Dental plans stated" its not our fault if the providers don't update their information" I paid for a service which is totally inaccurate and can not be relied on. I believe they have a responsibility to assure the information listed is accurate or refund my money!

This is not a dental plan. It is misleading to call the website "DentalPlans" when in reality it's only a membership card. They are just collecting money from their members and you think you can save. It's like a pyramid scheme, you purchase a membership without any benefit. I tried canceling but they're pushing for renewal plan and other so called plan but it's just another membership with different name. They have it set-up on automatic renewal, if you do not check, they are just automatically collecting your money without your knowledge. I tried using it once but the dentist said it's just a membership card. Okay we recognize it but you still pay the same.
