The big day came and me and my wife stayed up most of the night hoping praying things would go smoothly. Well let me tell you not only was the move a success it was handled brilliantly with all our items intact. When moving day came I did not know what to expect but the crew that showed up immediately put me at ease. They were on time, professional, and came prepared with all the right equipment and supplies. For a one bedroom one bathroom apartment you might think it is a quick and simple job but AmeriSafe Van Lines treated it with the same level of care and attention you would expect for a much bigger move. They did a quick walkthrough of my apartment first to assess everything before touching a single item. My bed frame was carefully disassembled and each piece was wrapped individually in thick moving blankets before being secured with stretch wrap. My dresser drawers were removed, wrapped separately, and packed in a way that kept them from shifting. My couch was fully wrapped and protected from top to bottom.

My TV stand, nightstand, and every other piece of furniture got the same treatment. Even the smaller everyday items like my lamps, mirror, bathroom essentials, and wall decor were packed with care and placed strategically in boxes with proper padding so nothing would move around. They loaded the truck like they were solving a puzzle, making sure heavier items were on the bottom and lighter more fragile things were secured on top and against the walls. Nothing was just thrown in carelessly. You could tell they had a system and they knew exactly what they were doing.

The long distance drive was the part I was most anxious about but AmeriSafe Van Lines kept me updated along the way so I was never sitting around wondering where my stuff was. They communicated proactively and made sure I knew what to expect and when. When they finally arrived at my new place they showed up right within the delivery window they had given me, which after a move that long I genuinely appreciated more than I can say. The unload was just as smooth and careful as the loading. They brought everything in without scraping my new walls or bumping into doorframes, asked me where each item should go, and placed everything exactly where I wanted it.

My bed frame was fully reassembled without me having to ask. My dresser was put back together with the drawers back in place. Every box was accounted for and delivered to the right room. Not one single item was damaged. Not one thing was missing. After traveling that kind of distance everything arrived in the exact same condition it was in when it left my old apartment.

If you are a college student or anyone on a budget trying to figure out how to make a long distance move work without losing your mind, I cannot recommend AmeriSafe Van Lines enough. They made the entire process feel less scary and way more manageable than I thought it would be. The level of care they showed for my belongings, the communication throughout the whole move, and the professionalism of the crew from start to finish was truly impressive. I will without a doubt be calling AmeriSafe Van Lines again the next time I need to move and I have already recommended them to two of my friends who are planning moves of their own. The guys who showed up on moving day were awesome. They worked hard, moved fast, and still managed to handle all my stuff with care. I had some furniture I was really worried about, bigger pieces that I didn’t want scratched or banged up, and they wrapped everything up properly and treated it like it was their own. By the time delivery came around, everything made it in perfect condition. No missing boxes, no damage. After a move that long, that’s not something I take for granted.

Honestly, what made the biggest difference was just knowing what was going on the whole time. I didn’t have to chase anyone down for updates. They kept me in the loop throughout the whole process. Moving is already stressful enough without feeling like your stuff has disappeared into thin air. AmeriSafe made sure that never happened. Then there was the contract of the day, while they were moving. After the move, we signed a final release. The quote and the actual price were the same. There were no changes and it was very smooth and easy. From three years ago, we probably had about the same amount of stuff, and it was the same price. I was very happy with it. It's been three years, and it would have gone up, but it didn't. It was a pleasant surprise.

The movers themselves just couldn't be more helpful, getting there when there were things that weren't completely packed the day of the move, assisting, offering wardrobe boxes when we were packing up, and hanging clothes into bags because we ran out of boxes. Had boxes available that they provided and packed for us. Just really making the transition very easy with the final little details. Providing a great timeline of what time they would be arriving, calling down here in Florida, saying, "We'll be there in about an hour." And just even the unpacking part, trying to stay organized. And just being very patient and putting things exactly where we asked. And not one thing was broken or misplaced, which is not always the best thing to hope for. It couldn't have gone better.

Leo did a walkthrough with the home and listed off all of the furniture and items and we came up with an estimation of boxes that I would need packed because they did all the packing for me. Once we came to a number, I trusted that he was giving me good information based on his knowledge of the industry, which seemed extensive, and that was where we decided to schedule the move.

When I was doing some research, I read a lot of horror stories about moves and a lot of them seemed to hinge on moving brokers, which Leo informed me that they are a broker and they're also a carrier. I didn't even pay close enough attention to know if it was one of their partners that moved me or if it was them specifically. I trusted them. I trusted what I was seeing online. Knowing that they were a broker and a carrier gave me a sense of ease based on some of the bad things I was reading online about primary brokers exclusively.

The initial booking process and scheduling my move with Leo was very easy and very well-explained. Throughout the process of the move, I would call their customer service number anytime that I had any questions after my items were picked up. I called three different times, and each time, I had a different agent. All of their agents seemed very knowledgeable and were very pleasant.

Even though long-distance moving is expensive, I don't think that that's just particular to AmeriSafe. That's all companies. I did receive some other quotes that were higher than AmeriSafe. Also, my interactions with AmeriSafe were more positive than my interactions with both Mayflower and Bekins. My overall experience with AmeriSafe was smooth and seamless.

What stood out most was how responsive and helpful the team was throughout the move. Anytime I had a question, they got back to me quickly and made sure I felt confident about everything. It made a big difference during a pretty hectic time. Overall, I’d definitely recommend AmeriSafe Van Lines to anyone planning a long-distance move. Reliable, professional, and easy to work with.

I called Amerisafe in response to a voicemail I received from one of their sales reps, Thomas. We chatted briefly to confer on cubic feet, number of rooms, dates and locations. He quickly became very aggressive on closing on this quote immediately. After telling him three or four times that I was planning on making some more calls today and then probably getting back to him today, he informed me that he had no interest in doing business with me and that I was stupid. Seems an odd way to close sales on a Friday morning.
